horrible deal....

fyi, my buddy leased 991 Carrera with msrp of around $112k.
also which is ordered to her spec.

3 years, 12k miles/yr, $5k TDO and including maintenance plan (covers scheduled maintenance) for 3 years, for less than $1500 a month.

Also pretty horrible, leasing anything for more than 1% of MSRP per month with $0 drive off is generally not good.

$121/mo for a $38k Bolt

https://forum.leasehackr.com/t/2017-...-nj-ny/31788/2

How about a $50k BMW for $54/month?

https://forum.leasehackr.com/t/2017-...-216-tax/32217

Or a $52k 330i for $216/mo?

https://forum.leasehackr.com/t/2018-...l-237-mo/39464

Or a $60k Volvo for $237/mo?

https://forum.leasehackr.com/t/succe...k-506-mo/32648

$87k F-type S for $500/mo? Sounds decent.

https://forum.leasehackr.com/t/2017-...-a-month/19260

Even found a $144k F-type SVR for $748/mo, that ain't bad either.

Clearly, buying is always better.

Well - the first several were electric cars with government incentives, and I already mentioned in previous posts that they are the exception.

The remaining vehicles are all achieved with heavy discounts off of MSRP, which is extremely rare on a lease. If those were achieved via the lease, one would assume an even greater discount possible via a straight purchase, so that negates those deals.

Even after saying all of this - the bottom line is that all of those are still just random people in a forum saying what they paid with no proof whatsoever, so I will remain suspect.

But don't worry - you keep enjoying your leased vehicles!

Are there independent lease companies in the US? In the UK, we have some big lease companies that buy cars directly from the manufacturers at highly discounted prices. Some of our lease deals are crazy.

In 2012 I leased a brand new E92 M3 for £400 a month, over 2 years, with a 3 month deposit. Two years later, the same year used M3’s were going for around £18k less than new, so I saved around £7k.

If there are good deals, I’ll always lease, if not I’ll buy.

Just to update everyone, when I saw that deal offered to me I chuckled. Even though I'm not familiar with a Porsche, I could tell when I'm getting hosed, which is why I mentioned in the OP that I'm getting it no lube.

You guys don't even want to see the turbo S lease deal they sent me. Lmfao.

$100k for a Boxster??!? Stuff like this leads me to believe we're at the end of the boom cycle due to these absolutely insane car prices.

In my opinion, which is probably worth as much as most internet advice, a general rule of thumb is one should lease depreciating assets and purchase those that hold their value or appreciate.

The real question here is: Can it be said that the Boxster is a good value in a performance car?

I have always bought or leased new cars but this time around, my 2015 M5's buyout was above market, and I purchased a slightly used 2015 M6 for relatively good value-less than half of the original sticker. Under warranty, etc.

I'd advise the young man to research comparable cars and find a slightly used, one owner, high performance vehicle still under warranty-they can often be had for less than the cost of a new high end pickup in most cases.

Five years ago I could have got a Gallardo for an $1800 a month lease. This is laughable.
