Has anyone gone down this path? Would love to see some pics - or alternatively a convincing argument that clear PPF is the way to go as AG on its own is amazing... :-)
On a side note, Arctic Grey can be configured as a "frozen" BMW individual color - no need for wrapping it to get the matte/frozen effect.
If you ever buy a car with mat paint, you definitely want it. PPF.

Oh my, that color, imo, is perfect on the x7. Definitely would have been the other color I would have opted for on mine if I didn't black it all out. Absolutely stunning, especially when in the sun. That's when I think it hits the perfect side of the spectrum.

True, but on the other side, the main reason for applying ppf is for protection. If you have a factory arctic color, not only that is extremely hard to repair any scratch but all the cars that has factory arctic colors fitted they can't have radars and driver assistant professional. Don't know why but this is what they told me at the dealership.

Black

My wife has only had white cars in the 32 years we've been married, from a Lexus RX330 to her H3 Hummer to the 3 BMWs she's had. I put black decals on her latest X7 to match the blackout of the rest of the car. Even the roundel.

I still can't understand y'all wrapping your car with plastic. Chips and dents are part of driving!

Pics below to show the colour. Having seen it in the flesh, the colour is definitely better than I expected. I'm now on the fence regarding the clear vs stealth wrap. As to the car itself, the additional extras of B&W sound system, ventilated massage seats, rear seat entertainment really make a difference. (No wireless charging weirdly, but I can live without that). I'm still going to miss my M50D though, it was a beast.
Any reason you got away from 50d.. thinking of upgrading 50/60 from 40…

Yeah, I'd have stayed with the 50d if I could - but it was having engine trouble. They replaced the valves, cylinder head turbos - taking almost 4 months. I wasn't convinced it was completely fixed. The 40d has additional equipment (BW, RSE, ventilated seats etc) and also it's assembled locally. Meaning they have parts! 40d is also the only option sold here now so choice is limited!

Gloss black strip and tailpipes added. Hard to see, it's so sunny today…it definitely rounds out the look I was going for. Waiting for the black badges as the finishing touch

Thanks to Yai at WAC Narathiwas for the wrap: https://www.facebook.com/waccardetailing/

Also thanks to my 2 guys from Millennium Auto, Panda and M for making the parts happen so quickly.

I prefer the blacked-out look, I've got an X7 Carbon Black with EST, but I think the chrome works with this look.

Actually the rear strip and tailpipes were replaced with gloss black. Difficult to tell from the pic. Here's another couple:

So my new badges arrived at the dealer this week, got them fitted today. Gloss black to match the tailpipes and the rear strip.

Now, I know you wont all approve of the M badge - but in my defence, the dealer did it! Also I already have dealer installed M side badges,so I was sticking with the theme

Sadly with fake M badges the people in the know who care will know it's fake. Everyone else will not care because they don't know what it means.

Not saying you shouldn't do it, that's your call. It's just the reality of the situation is what I'm pointing out.

The stealth PPF looks great btw

No, replaced the silver with gloss black tips. Now have to figure out how to make something artistic out of the old parts.

Comparing these pics to the earlier ones, here it seems to look more like Artic Grey. Hope I like it when I pick it up. Some photos in sunlight will probably help.

Next up I'll be swapping the rear silver strip and the exhaust tips for gloss black. Then (if they ever arrive) will replace the sliver badges with black.
Car looks absolutely fantastic. Great job!

Yes, I'd be interested in more photos as well if possible. Was thinking of wrapping my Dravit XB7, but that pic that was posted wasn't very flattering.
