2008 Corvette specs released...
Just released at the "Birthday Bash" in Bowling Green....
LS3 motor - 430 HP/424 TQ or 436 HP/428 TQ w/ optional exhaust (similar to Z06 exhaust). New 4LT leather and carbon fiber trim package. New interior and exterior color schemes, and wheel options. The new 4LT package is a big step forward for GM in terms of the level of interior but it's similar to what good aftermarket providers have already been selling. Any who, it looks nice and it should put to rest alot of the complaints about the interior from the factory not being up to par with the rest of the car. Lots of pics here...http://www.corvetteconti.com/photo-g...ry.php/cat/508 and here..http://s157.photobucket.com/albums/t...20Bday%20Bash/ and here...http://www.motortrend.com/features/a...rolet_corvette In other news, Motor Trend is citing sources as saying that the C7 version will be out in 2010 and the base model will be at the current Z06 level, 505 HP and the C6's parting shot in 2009 will bring the 700HP monster, the Z07. http://www.motortrend.com/future/fut...t_corvette_z07 Last edited by Carnage; 04-27-2007 at 06:29 PM.. |

I'll give GM credit, they are finally listening to owners (and potential buyers) and focusing on both the interior along with adding to the performance and refining the look.

Nice, but I have to laugh about the extra 6 hp for the optional exhaust. Do you think 6 hp added to 400+ is actually noticeable?

the problems that chevy is having with the c7, 700hp is putting all of that power to the ground. They are actually trying to find ways to ADD weight to the car, to give it more traction!

the selling point of the zo6 exhaust is not power, its the insane sound that comes out of it, it like the lambo exhausts that restrict flow for commuting but open fulling during WOT and put out an insane note.. it also allows some extra torque early on |

C7 will be a beast! Nice job GM, for keeping one of the last American icons alive.
I almost bought a C6 after my M3 and there are many times that I wish that I did. I am curious to see where else they decide to stuff the 500hp motor...CTS-V, maybe the Escalade and Denali?

And whatever replaces the GTO. Actually, in the UK you can already get a 500HP GTO (Monaro) but it is a supercharged LS2.

The peak HP is high in the band but with that amount of HP, you don't exactly have nothing at your disposal in the early part.
