they just need to make a huge X5 looking thing, add a foot of length to the passenger area, and a foot and a half to the very rear cargo area and put that quad-turbo diesel engine in it. don't over think this bmw!

Sorry to say...

Ladies and gents, go back and look at the spied photos in the first post. It's gonna be really close to looking like this. Shape of grilles and headlights are probably "slightly " off but, damn close.

I have seen some insider renders and although it is not as hideous, the beaver look appears to be thier view of what is hip. Also the fact that our friendly guru Scott has not commented is a dubious sign that it might not be so far fetched.

If you ran BMW and were accountable to share holders you would have to explain why you weren't investing in the model that was the number two selling model as well as the model leading to the most sales growth....

In 2015 the x5 was the second leading selling model with 55k sales. It also had the most growth of any model at 17% versus the prior year.

While BMW sold 94k 3-series models, the number one selling model, it was actually a contraction of 6% versus the prior year, they sold 101k in 2014.

Additionally all other models* saw contraction with the exception of the 4 series which did see 11% growth and was the 3rd best selling model next to 3 series and x5 with 46k units.

*not counting newly launched models

That being said man that rendering is fugly

Wow! That's only 95% as ugly as the rendering on the first page.

Merry Christmas to you too and I'll see what I can do about it... Not too excited about rendering it though... Cheers!

I actually like that concept, just not sure how well this design would translate to a big SUV

Also, you guys can see that 6/8 prototype headlights look a lot like the ones seen in the X7 prototype -both in shape and size- so we are probably looking into the VFL in coupe/vert form aswell.

This is a joke from the Audi guys right? That hexadorky front end shape just screams 'trying to look like an Audi'. Truly fugly, either way, but I loath sport utes in all forms, so have at it.
