Sorry I meant, build specs. How did you configure? Colors, trims, packages, etc? You're the first person on our forum to post about their X7 going into production, This is great news for you and the rest of us!

Try calling the geniuses, too, PipeDr. They have more up to date info than is currently reflected online for my vehicle. Might be true for you as well

Well, thank you for kinda recognizing it’s not the customer’s fault. However, it’s not just blind trust - When I put my initial order in, the dates showed January, so why believe a forum instead of the BMW order system?

I pretty much always defer to forums cause every little thing is so exhaustively discussed by fanatics like ourselves.

No disrespect intended with either post

I received confirmation from my CA yesterday that my X7 has started production. It is currently listed as being in the body shop.It will be interesting to see when it actually ships to the dealership after finishing production, since everyone is saying that March is the release date.

Bmw told me, they will hold cars until the official launch date. Mine is a week 7 build.

Do you know if they will ship them when production is finished and have the dealerships hold them until the official launch date,or will they hold them at the plant.

They will he held somewhere in the supply chain. At the factory or someplace like the west coast port.

Any one else getting delayed out there? I'm f***ing steaming right now...Thinking of pulling my order. Just checked the status of my build in My Garage this evening and my car is back to "order received". It's the second time this has happened. Had a week 6 build then went to a week 8. Called BMW genius line and it's a f***ing week 13 build now. Genius doesn't know why. So I preordered within the first 2 minutes on October 16 gave them a deposit and they're telling me I'm not going to have this thing on launch date now and prob won't have it until mid April. 6 f***ing months. Are you kidding me. Is preorder a joke? Can't wait to call the sales manager in the morning and see wtf is going on.

What options did you select? Your configuration could be held up by issues in the supply chain.

Second this, hopefully an option causing the hold up. So if March 20 is official release day, this puts your delivery maybe April 5-26ish? March 25-29 completion, then 1-3 weeks for delivery to dealer.

It’s real unfortunate to have placed that deposit so early and be experiencing delays of any kind. This internet pre order thing has been a fiasco

That's a nice build! But I do think those interior choices could be holding your build back.

If you can still make changes, I highly recommend driving assistance professional.

beautiful build.

worth a shot, but it may not be possible to figure out what's causing the delay. could be a bump in the dealer's allocation, some weird supply issue, who knows.

let us know what sales manager says, hopefully he can make something happen for you

Production/delivery

They're saying a delay due to shortage on Msport package and 2 row captains chairs. Apparently my first minute preorder doesn't matter. Wtf! What I think it's crazy is that someone mentioned NON preorder allocations available week 12 build back in mid Dec with msport and captains chairs being limited. But it sounds like I'm the only preorder with this problem. Fml

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with the same s**t. I called some other dealers to see if I could flip my order to them or if they have any other info and they said the same. I can get the car at launch if I loss the msport and captains chairs. Not doing that .Just bothers me that BMW totally f**ed us with the preorder promises. What also blows my mind is how easy it is to get an X7 for launch with no preorder. 3.5 month heads up on msport is just not good enough I guess. Bull s**t. Sorry for rant

Garage List
I am looking to order a X7 but salesrep warned that the international launch date has been pushed back from march 30th to the 11th of may due the lack of availability of X7's for all dealers to showcase the car at launch.

UPDATE: Sales manager called me(day after I made a complaint to BMW NA) and said he got the week 8 production slot back but no guarantee that it'll stay there. Fingers crossed it goes into production in a couple weeks. Now it's wait and see
