Re-doing stock steering wheel

My "sport" steering wheel feels too thin, not spongy and does not have the smooth napa leather. Any one ever have wheel removed, stripped rim, put on padding and napa leather (sort of creating the M steering wheel feel)? Got price of $500 to $700 to do this. Your thoughts?

Wouldn't it be cheaper just to get an M wheel?

Re-doing stock steering wheel

I would be interested to see what you come up with. I also have the sport wheel and the stitching on it is scratchy and I don't really like the rough feeling either. I have been looking for a nice smooth leather wheel cover that I could get professionally installed, if anyone has any ideas that would be great. Or if I replace the steering wheel with the M-sport, wouldn't that be prohibitively expensive?

The steering wheels themselves can be had for around $300. Its the airbag thats expensive.

When doing the steering wheel swap to sport will the existing airbag fit in the sport wheel?

The F20 M steering wheel is a direct swap so you can use the standard air bag.
