Display Key and Remote Parking

So I purchased the display key with my x7, as the description online indicates "The ability to activate remote control parking is also available"

As I don't see the "availability" of this option on the key or in any settings, does anyone know what the deal is? Feature not yet released but forthcoming? Or an outright lie in the description?

Doesn't the 5er key even have a button for remote parking on it?

I have the display key also and honestly can't see the point. Save raising and lowering the suspension remotely (how often do you really do that?) it's no different to the "regular" key in terms of functionality.

Hi, not sure what your saying about the 5er key... my reason for buying it was the remote parking in and out of my garage. Otherwise, I agree, no point in it...

I believe the display key on the 5 series has an additional button for remote parking (which makes me believe the X7, which doesn't have the button, doesn't support remote parking).

Well, if true I'm asking for my $300 back (as a matter of principle...)

I agree. I ordered the display key almost exclusively to be able to easily put it in and out of the garage.

What's the deal?

My X5 G05 has the display key and it doesn't have remote parking.

My 7 series has one and doesn’t remote park either. I think it’s honestly the dumbest option without that capability. Who wants to carry around a huge key fob just to be able to ventilate the car (yet another flawed feature that also doesn’t work very well)

To be fair it wasn’t promoted as an option for the display key for 2016 (I had a 2016 7 with display key as well)

But for 2019 x7, the display key description indicates the devices “enables” this option...

Are you sure that this wasn't a European only option, possibly hidden somewhere deep in the "fine print"? Not to mention the fact that the idea of remote parking does not sound like it would work in the very "litigation crazy" USA. After all, this is a country where we have people that can spill hot coffee on themselves in the drive thru, sue the restaurant for giving them coffee that was too hot, and actually win.... Of course, this wouldn't be the first cool technology option that we don't get in the states due to the lawyers, if that is fact the reason why we don't get it...

If you build an x7 online on the US site and choose that option, the details indicate the feature. No asterisk.

You can lower the car from the display key...
Why I can’t do it from the app is beyond me though.
