The perfect "truck gun" spot

If you guys are looking for a cheap truck gun, the Taurus G2C fits PERFECTLY in the small driver side glove box.

You can usually get these at Academy Sports for $199 but I got it from sportsman's guide for $169.

Keyboard operators please save the "don't leave firearms in your vehicle" and "I wouldn't rely on a taurus" comments. We all know. (I've put over 500 rounds through each of the two I bought without a hiccup.)

Your gonna shoot your eye out. Lol.

Cool. I need one of those. No permit needed for concealed carry in west Virginia.

I was thinking AR Pistol in the trunk area where the spare would go. But this looks much better. Thanks.

Paultattoo That was my first plan too, but I ended up filling that space with a viair compressor, plug kit, jumper cables, other misc tools and emergency equipment.

How about a SAV gun? Since you know...no one on here has a "truck".

No disrespect, but what good does it do you in the trunk? Last time I was carjacked I would not be able to retrieve it from the trunk fast enough.

That’s why I like Tex’s idea.

In the trunk falls under the “better to have a gun and not need it then need a gun and not have it”.

Fantastic discussion.

My EDC is a Glock 19. Wondering how that would fit in that space, compared to your Taurus.

Looks like my S&W Bodyguard .380 would fit there (I didn't realize there was a storage compartment there, thanks.) My door gun is a S&W Shield 9MM. My dash guns are either a Glock model 40 10MM or a S&W 686 .357, depending on the territory. Just kidding about the dash guns.

Wild Blue I tried my G19 and it wouldn't fit. A G26 would probably fit nicely though.

FishOuttaWater I like your style. Door gun, Dash gun, Console Gun, Trunk Gun...why not!

So it sounds like that compartment really only fits a pocket pistol, maybe subcompacts.

If it fits a SSP250 I am good unfortunately no carry permit so even it does it has to stay in an inaccessible area with the ammunition in a different zip code according to our wonderful political leaders otherwise the "good guys" are the problem and they continue to reward the "bad guys".

Oh, you're right, dude. This is a terrible situation. I totally agree with you, @Stealth X7 i40xdrive; it makes no sense whether you have a gun or not if it's not on hand, much less in the trunk. In any situation, you simply won't have time to get it. I had a bad situation last year, and thank goodness my training gun was handy in the holster. By the way, if you need a reliable holster, you can check it out here ballachy.com. Take care of yourself and your loved ones!

My hands are too big for a sub compact so the old Ruger American stays right in the door bin propped up by a shemgah. Helps that I'm a lefty.

This is bonkers, i never realized that was a storage space. DIdn't even think to pull it because it looks like a fuse panel i guess haha. Happy to report my 365 fits perfectly in there as well, no longer in the middle console under a carriage tray.

Really appreciate this thread!

It is a neat place to store your firearm, I prefer to carry mine rather than leave it in the vehicle. If someone breaks in that firearm will be out on the streets for criminal use and I wouldn't want that to happen.
