Just got my car back from service so started to code stuff back….but when coding the M instrument display, it shows 3.0 CSL on the top. Only the M was there before. This happening for others?

If it were me I'd try reverting the module back to default, then apply your coding again. But not sure how well the reverting would work after an update.

Either you coded something wrong, or the coding parameters in the applicable module changed with the software update your X7 received when at the dealer. If it is the latter, then you will need to wait for a BimmerCode app update which will contain the latest coding parameters to match the current BMW software update.

Which section to pick if I wanted to brighten the DRL? Checked almost all the sections but didn't come across it yet.

So far I’ve coded the following:
1- Traffic light assist
2- Emergency lane auto response (formally the feautre has a different name I guess, but this is the one the prompts the car to open a lane and go to the very left or right when an emergency vehicle is around)
3. Ambient light color (Solid Red)
4. Auto highway-exit takeover
5. Adjusting front speed and/or distance based on route and/or condition.

I found the traffic light assist to work great in Europe but not that good in the US for whatever reasons. I shared internal slides before that traffic light assist will be further tuned and released formally in the 2023 7-series sedan, and later added to X7 around April 2022 when a new hardware is released along with highway motor assist which is currently only available on the 7-series.

Question: I was wondering if anyone has been able to code the “Stop Sign Recognition” on the X7?

I had read the same thing about traffic light recognition *and* stop sign recognition on the forums: their current recognition algorithm works well in the EU but not in the US. The next gen software on the '23 7 / April X7 / future models should recognize properly in the US as well.

Because of that, I didn't spend time on trying to figure out how to code TLA or stop sign assist. In your experience, is it useful in the US? Worth the time to code it?

#2, is that for moving your vehicle to the edge of your lane to make room for the emergency vehicle lane like they do on the Autobahn?

Can you describe what #4 and 5 do?

Part 1 of your question:
It's hard for me to recommend TLA in the use. Traffic light is a sensitive feature, and if anyone wants to try it I always recommend that at least keep their hand on the wheel and foot on the brake all the time. Personally, I found it to be very useful. The reason BMW decided to not make it available naturally for the current hardware available on the X7s pre or post LCIs is that the camera and hardware may not be ready yet to recognize the location of the traffic light versus the cutoff line where you need to stop the vehicle here in the US. In Europe, it's easier as in most cases the traffic light is where the cut-off stop line is. The system works really well for me in the US, but I would say it does miss some traffic lights in a way that it stops or cross the white line were we should legally stop. The hardware in the 7-series sedan and the refreshed upcoming X7 have a different set of camera, and with combination with software optimization, will be able to better predict where to stop. To me, it does worth it if you code it correctly.

Part 2 of your question:
#2, yes, it is for moving your vehicle to the edge of your lane to make room for the emergency vehicle lane like they do on the Autobahn, basically automatically.

Part 3 of your question:
It is the for the high-way exist assist. When using BMW navigation, in some highways, vehicle will assist you to be where you need to be to take the highway exist based on your destination.
The coding needed for this is below
<group id="3000">
<function start="183" end="183" comment="C_QmaN_Vorhanden - nr001_vorhanden" mask="11111111b">00</function>
<function start="184" end="187" comment="C_SLA_QmaN_Land_aktiv - FFFFFFFF" mask="11111111b">FA, C3, 81, F8</function>

For the last part, #5 allows you to let the vehicle decide on the optimum safe distance between you and the vehicle based on driving conditions and speed, and it also reduces it's speed when you are on speed control as you approach a circle or hard turn. You may find this already in your system for some vehicles. If you don't have it and want to code it, let me know.

Ah, I see. The official name is "Active Lane Guidance", it reminds you of upcoming exits and will adjust speed to align yourself in gaps in adjacent lanes, to help you move over more easily.

Seems cool, thanks for the info. I'll have to try this.

My '22 with DAPP lets you manually choose between 4 levels of following distance. I normally keep it on level 2.

I did notice yesterday on a hilly road (with distance 2 selected the entire time) that when going downhill, even though my speed didn't change, it automatically increased distance to the car in front.

I haven't noticed anything related to circles/turns. The hilly road from yesterday also had some bends, and the X7 would remain at the max cruise control speed through the bends even when it was a bit too fast to be comfortable.

What are the codes for that? I don't see anything related to it in the github F-series xml file that you linked in another thread today.

I just grabbed this from my own spreadsheet where I keep history of all the coding I did. Please try them carefully at your own risk but let me know if you need help.

Under the module 7083 BDC, for the function SITUATIVER_ABSTAND change the value to "Aktic" --> which means active when translated from german to english. Most codes on all BMWs are in German language.

Then go to the 3E52 HU_MGU module, and change the SITUATIVERABSTAND to gen_1

All this is to adjust distance on situation. Search in the drive asset menu after you do coding and make sure to activate that feature. If you don't find it, let me know by then.

Wow, these coding lists are pretty anemic. I remember my F15 X5 had close to a hundred coding options using E-Sys.

Yes, and I found many of them to be compatible with the X7 too.

Still interested to see if anyone has been able to code the stop sign recognition....

Still patiently waiting for a Bimmercode update. I've tried to recode multiple times from default and get the same result. Great app just company no very responsive.

It's become clear to me that this collection of ADAS functions will make it necessary for me to enroll in "un-driver's school" (lol).

Has anyone successfully used Bimmercode on the 2023? I want to get the red ambient light option and close trunk with remote.

i spoke with the team at bimmercode a week or so ago, we couldnt get the car connected even though i am running the sw that can code the codeable modules in an i4 (ID 8 as well)

they were going to look into it further and get back to me

Anyone have a recommendation for someone who can do remote coding on a 2023 X7?

I want Anti-dazzle and VLD enabled, and some other stuff as well, but the guy I have used before hasn't been able to gain access to all of the modules in iDrive 8.

Same thing happened to me, they did the software update at the service department and after I cannot code it back to M logo, it shows 3.0 CSL, if any one find out how to change this back to M please let us know.

I assume you finally got access or someone to idrive 8 coding, right?

Nope. I gave up after asking over a dozen coders. Figured I would wait until more people had iDrive 8 cars and they had a chance to learn how to access it. After BMW somehow, possibly mistakenly, activated my anti-dazzle headlights, I'm in no rush to have anyone mess with my car.

Not in Australia. Easily done via on board screen.
