This is a entirely new face design not resembling anything previous from any generation so let's not chalk the abysmal reaction it is getting to those that fear or push backing against change.

This is just bad. Makes it look like the designer had no idea how to integrate the double headlights and just shoved them where they had some room. This and the new 7 Series are just awful.

There's been a dearth of new X7 content while we wait for production to start. Hopefully, that's changing.

This is a tricky question and am hopping to get answers:
If you try to build a 2023 7-series now, you would notice that the Highway Assistant "also known as motorway assistant in Europe" would appear as an added option when you select the Driving Assistance Professional Package
HOWEVER, unlike the 7-series, if you are building the 2023 X7 now, when selecting the Driving Assistance Professional Package, you won't see the language that is also referring to Highway Assistant "also known as motorway assistant in Europe"

We know from some leaks that BMW was planning to include the Highway Assistant "motorway assistant" at the intro for the 7-series, but then in April 2023 for X7. Does that mean X7 will get it through a software update knowing it makes no-sense to change the hardware just 7 months from the starting of production of a new X7 anyway. How can I get confident that it is more of a OTA update and that theX7 is already equipped with the hardware that can make it? I know the iX has the same exact ussie and that they were promising it will get the 2.5or 2+ driving assist autonomous level through OTA update, but nothing solid for X7. Please advise.

BMW is not financially incentivized to give things "for free" via OTA updates. So chances are that you won't see it activated via OTA. We are still waiting on BMW to activate no-dazzle feature on current X7s in USA, even though the hardware is installed and the feature was just coded out and should have been a no-brainer to just code it in via OTA. Especially since some of us already have done the necessary coding on our own to activate this feature.

I think there is also some cost delta between 7 series and x7 on the package. And I don’t see them giving that for free.

There is also legal liability. I spoke to an attorney friend and he said that basically BMW has to follow laws/regulations in place for the model year the car was built. They legally cannot change something in a car that was built a year, two or three ago that had a different regulation in place at the time it was built. Unless the government adds something in to a new regulation that requires or allows the mfg to go back and change it.

So don't hold your breath expecting BMW to send an OTA that enables the anti-dazzle headlights on our existing cars.

Gimmicky exterior styling but not BMW's worst.

Driving Assist Plus update?

Hello everyone.
New member here, looking for a MY2023 X7. Any update on the enhanced driving assist package for hands free freeway driving? Thanks.

Maybe I’m an outlier here, but I like the front end. Modern lights are moving to be smaller in size, and the designers found a way to embrace this with a modern body design in the front.

We enjoy the big curved display, although I don’t like the sharp corner top right side that “sticks out”. Wish there was a way to soften that a little with more curve, but it’s difficult to do that without making the bezel size bigger.
