So many things are already included on the M60i that the price difference with 40i is not that much any more for those looking for MSport package, DHP etc.

this is my single biggest beef with BMW product planners for the x5/x6/x7... all of the upgraded wheel sizes (21/22 on x5, 22 on x7) are not available in a square all season setup. the front size 275/40/22 has some very good options. It would literally take no effort for them, other than adding one more tire option to sourcing and production planning, as the offsets will all fit. As we know the base wheel diameters are available in a single offset square all season options.

Kills those of us who just want the larger wheel look but not hassle. The funny thing is they do exactly this for a chunk of the lineup like the 330 and M340, but somehow not for the x models which would benefit even more from an all season option in larger sizes (and probably better meet consumer expectations in the northern US)
I suppose even the 21 factory OEM is a stager setup, we can still use the same rims for square setup? I'm thinking to get a set of winter tires but am very new to all the tire things...
Factory 21s on the x7 are all season square setup

I looked at it both ways and the difference for me was approximately $16k on my build

I have a couple of questions about the M Sport Professional Package on the M60i. The ordering guide says it gives you the black calipers, extended shadowline trim, and the M Sport Package Pro. The black calipers are self-explanatory.

What is the M Sport Package Pro?

What does the extended shadowline trim add?

extended shadowline trim turns your grill from chrome to black.

Idk about the M Sport Package Pro but looks like besides cosmetic it has some M Sport sounds and tune to it.

M Sport Professional Package $1350 / $300
==================
1MA M Sport exhaust system x
33B M Sport Package Pro x x
3DN Illuminated Kidney Grille x
3M3 M Sport Brakes with Black Calipers x x
or 2NH M Sport Brakes with Blue Calipers + $0 + $0
7M9 Extended Shadowline Trim

I'm not sure what M Sport Package Pro is either - most likely the sounds etc to go with the other changes. But it is actually a good price assuming you don't mind the (likely) louder sound from the exhaust in the 40i.

msport brakes were $650
extended shadowline was $300
so $400 for the exhaust, grille, and whatever the heck msport package pro is (this might be the M Seatbelts and other cosmetic bits)
actually not a bad "deal" considering.

does anyone's VIR from the order bank have code 8TT "Decoding Additional Features II" listed on it?
apparently this is to decode adaptive following distance and auto lane change assistant?

My order sheet includes 8TT, however I don't think it decodes (removes) adaptive following distance and/or lane change assist - but rather removes self driving beyond 40mph (like current), whereas the new hardware late MY2023 or MY2024 are supposedly getting to enable that. The decoding of the advanced self-driving is likely due to ID8 having the new features natively baked in. Just a hunch.

Would be great to hear officially from BMW if Highway Assistant will be software unlockable in the future with the newer hardware already installed. The 7 series order guide has Highway Assistant bundled with Driver Assistance Professional.

Laser lights are gone due to US regulations. They decided that is better to go with Matrix LED than fitting a chopped version of Laser Headlights.

Hey all, Considering ordering a 2023 X7, had a few questions for you all:

can you add hitch later? does it disappear when not in use, or you take it off when not using it?

hi-fi stereo vs harmon kardon? wondering if premium package is worth it, don't really need the soft close doors, electric sun shades or gesture control, but if harmon kardon is a lot better, id probably get it.

run flats or non-run flats w/ spare? We had run flats on our cadillac ATS and i hated them, caused such a rough ride and I felt like they blew out more frequently.

In other threads I think I read that you must get 5 zone climate control to get air vents in the 3rd row, even if they just blew out the same air temp as the 2nd row?

sucks that illuminated grill only with both M sport packages, more of a gripe than a question.

Hello,

Regarding the sound system, it is night and day difference between standard and Harman Kardon. Between Harman and B&W is a difference for audiophiles. I would definitely go for Harman.

Gesture control is fun.

When it comes to run-flat, the discussion is wether you combine it with a proper air suspension or not. I believe the air suspension is standard though. If you have space for non run-flat, it might be an option, only keep in mind that you are obligated to change it in that exact moment and place there it goes of, where at run-flats you still can ride. I have on order an X5 Plugin where there is no place for spare so I had to go for run-flat.

Also I would consider executive Pro suspension.

About the 5zone climate, it is absurd not to have ventilation in the third row if you stay with 4 zone.

Good luck and I hope you'll love your future car!

1) yes, you can add a stealth hitch aftermarket, which you can remove the receiver when not in use. but it will likely cost you 3X the factory hitch. the factory hitch receiver is always visible. The factory hitch option also upgrades the size of the rear brakes.

2) personal preference. i currently have two X3s, one with and one without HK. if you are listening to news or talk, base hifi is fine. anything else and HK is a worthwhile option to get.

3) my personal preference is to option the spare regardless. its much cheaper from the factory than adding it later, and gives you the option to go with non runflats. in regards to runflats, the usual failure mode in an urban setting is a pothole hit that ruptures the cords in the sidewall, the dreaded bubble. this happens alot with the lower profile runflats. when you are looking at a 5" sidewall like on the 21's, you have a much lower risk. in NYC my X3 had no issues, same 5" sidewall.

4) yup, no vents in the 3rd row without 5 zone CC.
