It's a new model and it's been "stuck" in QC for 48 hours? It's gonna take a couple more days to truck it and prep it, too. Why not fly to Spartanburg if you need it today?

I was in QC from 7/29 until at some point last night/this morning, when it flipped to 'awaiting carrier assignment'. I have no idea if there was a specific option they were having an issue with (that was causing the delay) or what was going on. My dealer says that all five of their 2023 X7s were stuck in QC for days - sounds like mine was the first build and the first to be released though. So there is hope....

Do you know if your cars are being held up by NHTSA's safety recall FMVSS-118?

Digging a bit deeper into this recall, it affected vehicles built prior to the first week of April 2022, so you're being affected by something else.

Da, how do you recall a vehicle that hasn't been produced?

Wonder if the Stop Sale has anything to do with this? https://g07.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...5&postcount=45

I've been in QC since my prodDate of 8/1

I wonder if your SA heard that elsewhere or if suggesting that issue has him affirming what seems likely. Either way, it definitely seems most probable given the complexity of these cars and their O/S. Was scratching my head wondering how so many could get built while others languished in limbo when they’re all relying on similar parts.

Why would they hold some and deliver others? Mine struck in QC since 08/02.

Maybe it has to do with an error that occurred during a specific period of time in the production process. That's why some vehicles couldn't be delivered until they fix it.

Yep. This is day 8 for me. So odd given others are receiving theirs with no issue, so nothing systemic. I’ve got a note into my SA to do some digging but not sure she’ll be able to uncover much. I still hit refresh on my garage a good 3-10x per hour.

Yeah, doesn’t make sense as I don’t believe there’s any commonality. IIRC you’re a M60 and I’m a 40i. I have exec pkg, drive asst pro, backup, and captains. I wonder if it’s a color thing?

IIRC...you selected "Blue Ridge Mountain Metallic" which is a standard but it is a new color for the X7.

Not a color thing, this one just got delivered with same color as me, built later as I'm on 8/1. I bet there was something that was discovered for the first set that was fixed for the second week and now have to go back and do the fix on week 1 which is what's causing the delay. Total guess, but who knows.

Buying cars was much less stressful before being able to live stream the production line on your smartphone and watch it being assembled.
