Stepping in is not that easy for kids or my parents/older. Hence I really like the display key. Before we get to the garage i set the vehicle height to low using the display key via a single button
I’ll post a thread about my experience with the display key.
I'm a retiree...I'm 5'4"... I have back and knee problems. However, I prefer not to use running boards as they are awkward to use. My friend has a Cadillac Escalade...she has no problem using the running boards. I don't like them at all. So I'm hoping it will be easy for me to get in/out of the car without using them. Someone posted about links that can lower the car even further than the lowest level. Here is the thread. Please let me know what you think:

They use the running boards. My wife is short - 5' tall. So the running boards are mainly for her, but my daughter (4 yo) benefits as well. My son is 4 months old so he won't be stepping into the car anytime soon

But having the ride height at the lowest setting helps with stepping on to the running boards. For me (5'10") I usually just take a big step and bypass the running board altogether.

Thanks. Last time I called the dealer...they didn't have an X7 for me to try. My existing car has a 15" step-in height. So I taped Kleenex boxes (4" high) on the driver's door sill to replicate a 19" step-in height. Then I raised the foot well by 4" as well. I was able to get in/out. Of course..it wasn't as easy as getting in my current car. I will definitely have to test drive one before I order.

PS: I'm still waiting for more pictures...I'm so excited as the color looks really nice..it pops even at night!

First impression upon seeing it - we arrived at the dealership and saw it sitting outside. Wow it looks REALLY good. Love the paint color, love the headlights, love the accents.
Attachment 2977379

Taking a look inside, everything looks and feels incredibly premium. It's definitely a step up from the X5. The full leather really makes a difference and IMO is well worth the cost. The screen actually looks good, makes it look very modern inside. My only gripe is the removal of some of the physical buttons for steering wheel heater, seat heating/cooling, etc. Other than those, I'm totally on board with iDrive8 and the screen. One other thing I'll mention, I do prefer the pre-LCI ambient lighting. They reduced some of that ambient lighting for this LCI and it's noticeable.

We then went out for a celebratory dinner. And as night fell.... oh my word. This color, which I was originally a little iffy about... it POPS. Absolutely gorgeous color. We turned in an Ametrine Metallic X5, but wow that never popped the way this does. Don't think pictures do it justice.
Attachment 2977378
Attachment 2977377

As for the driving experience. Immediately it feels a bit smoother and quieter than the X5. The X5 was an incredibly smooth and quiet ride to begin with.. and this seems to turn it up a notch. The dynamic handing package, while subtle, helps this big SUV feel surprisingly nimble. I definitely notice a difference between this and our X5 which felt a bit floaty on the air suspension.

I did try the driving assistance on the highway. It works similarly to pre-LCI, however I did notice improved tracking. Our X5 exhibited some very slight ping-pong effect in the lanes sometimes, and that seemed to be completely absent with this. So seems to be an improvement overall.

I'm extremely happy with it so far. I'll be sure to add more pictures in the coming days with better lighting to really show the interior. I think if there's one thing we could have changed about the spec, it might be the interior trim. The anthracite-brown poplar wood, while in and of itself looks amazing and sophisticated, seems to blend in a bit too much with the atlas grey part of the interior.

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! The whole spec is a complete win looks great thanks for sharing. Enjoy💜💜

A few additional detail shots. The color looks SO different based on lighting (I know..... everyone says this about every color...). I still owe you guys some shots out in the sun, so I will be sure to make that happen this weekend!

Congratulations! This is the same combination I have on order other than the trim. I have on order the individual ash grain silver grey high gloss. I absolutely love how it looks at night. I think that’s my favorite time when it looks best. Best of luck with it. I love how you matched the headliner. I went with darker alcantara this time as I had white on my last car and I wanted a change. One thing I did like about the lighter headliner was how open and wide it felt in the cabin. Best of luck to you!

Thanks! I had the individual ash grain silver trim in the X5 and it's gorgeous. I think it'll look great with the ivory/atlas combination. Almost wondering if I should have gone with that again as it would offer a nice contrast. Looking forward to your pics when you receive it!

The interior pictures look AMAZING!!! I'm really excited your shade is alcantara, hoping mine will be too. Interesting how none of the black ones I've seen in pictures are. Must be a supply thing.

Thank you...thank you...I love the color...it's gorgeous!

Would you say it is easy to maintain? As I live in Nevada which is very dusty...that's why I really want to get a light color!

I'll let you know after it rains. I've only had it since Wednesday and have had unusually good weather in Chicago these past few days

Thanks! What color did you order again?

My wife actually picked out all the colors for this one. I figured since it's the family car she should get a say, especially since she's letting me pick everything for my M3 on order.

@op

I went to Elmhurst today to look at Brooklyn grey .

I confirmed my feelings that the car color doesn't do it for me . It looks nice. Personal opinion, meh

But here is my surprise .

My wife loved sparking copper. It looked great in the sun paired nicely with a luxury line.

We found sensafin acceptable .

So our potential build might change to non m-sport 🫣🫣🫣🫣

Sparkling copper was my first choice, but my wife didn't want it. Said it was too similar to the dravit grey on my m340i (which she's not a fan of for whatever reason). But if it had been up to me we would have ordered a Sparkling copper X7.

That being said, I'm really liking Blue Ridge mountain now seeing it in person and in different lighting conditions. It wouldn't be my choice for say, an m3, but on the x7 I think it works well.

Dravit / tartufo is my other potential build

But my wife would prefer more options and go non Msport. And since this is her ride I agree with her

Thanks! What color did you order again?

My wife actually picked out all the colors for this one. I figured since it's the family car she should get a say, especially since she's letting me pick everything for my M3 on order.
We will wait and order in April, but he fell for the carbon black, and when I saw it in person at the dealer, I liked it a lot too. He's big on black cars, but his corvette is a deep gorgeous purple. He wants the M60i. I would have been good with the 40i, but I told him as long as he has ticket money. Lol. We are getting the sport package too, which I like the black lines on it. We also plan on tinting the driver and passenger, and windshield. I've considered the sunroof but still researching and reading the forms. This build in this thread is initially what I had built. I wanted to see this color in person, but the pictures alone are beautiful.

Oof dravit/tartufo would be SUCH a good combo. The medium brown interior to perfectly compliment the gold flakes in the paint
