Hey all,

So, as many of you already know, there's a stop sale in place on X7s currently. After what has been the fastest build I've ever experienced (less than 48 hours from assembly line to dealer delivery), I have to wait until a software update is released before I can take delivery. Major bummer of course but my awesome CA blew up my phone with pictures to drool/lust over in the meantime. I'm really stoked and couldn't be any happier with the color. I usually get white cars but wanted to change things up this time. I wanted to share some great pics in the sun for anyone who wants to see them.

I checked every box on the order but the captains chairs. Also can confirm that currently the sunshade is alcantara when you order the alcantara headliner in upholstery color; you get a non-alcantara sunshade if you order black (as of right now).

Can't wait to take her home!! The IT folks at BMW need to hurry the hell up…

I believe the captain's chairs have the different headrests.

No, Pedro's my go to guy. They're right next to each other if I recall though; I'll have to notice when I'm there next which hopefully will be soon. I've gotten used to a lot of the same faces there over the last couple of years. It's about a 2 hour drive for me down to Lake Bluff and it's always worth it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Pedro and Knauz to anyone. It's always a great experience.

Absolutely great choice, I chose the same exterior color and interior trim, it's silver ash, right?

This happened to me today. Fast build as well and went to the dealer to take it home and then they found out about the stop sale. Apparently a software issue effecting the headlights. They don't have an ETA, but said it could be mid-October. Very frustrating.

Thanks! Yes, silver ash is the interior trim. I didn't want another glossy trim so this one was an easy choice. I can't wait to see it in person.

It is. I heard the exact same thing. If BMW's dealers are unable to sell any X7s nationwide I'm really hoping this will make them push the update out sooner. I asked my CA what would happen if we stuck a dealer plate on there and sent me on a multiple week test drive in the meantime (LOL) but he said the mileage is tracked once there's a stop sale in place. This doesn't surprise me.

I can see in the X5 forums you still can't get Merino in some of the trims due to parts constraints so I'm happy I got all of my options at this point.

Oooh, that's a really nice color combo! I like blue, but might have to consider that combo. Congrats! Love the matching roof Alcantara also. I have ivory interior now and with the black headiner it makes it feel low and dark. Especially at night.

Not a problem! You should post some pictures if you go :-)

Got my scorpion winters down in the basement waiting. Hopefully I'll get the car and am able to enjoy the summers for a little bit first. Trying not to think about snow, though…

I picked up my Sparkling Copper, with the silver ash two weeks ago, it is beautiful. I ordered the captain chairs, Ivory leather, and different wheels (standard cream interior) I haven't been on this forum much in the last 2 weeks, is there going to be a major recall for the cars that have already been delivered?

Congrats! I hope you're enjoying it.

It doesn't sound like there's going to be a "major" recall, no. If anything there's going to be a software update the dealer will do next time you're there once available. I'm not even 100% sure what the specific problem is; something with the headlights/running lights.

You are going to LOVE that interior. I have the ivory/navy in my OG 2019 50i (ordered it before they ever hit the ground back in the old days). It is so plush and includes extra rich details that the other full-leather options don’t, like the braided trim. I’m ordering the ivory/gray on my 23 also. Enjoy!

I'd like to know how your order was regarding the Upholstery in order to get that threaded back seat pocket? Was that part of extended merino or full merino. My order is extended Tartufo But if the full Tartufo has that nice back set pocket I would 100% go for it.
Thank you
