Internet rates and DHP

Anyone have a guess on how much interest rates will go up I. October and when DHP may return to the online configurator? Do I pull the trigger on an order and lock in the lower rate or wait for DHP? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Impossible to predict interest rates. If other claims they know, they are just speculating. I personally would wait to get the DHP if I needed to order one now. DHP is ranked first or 2nd most important option to me.

I put my order in a couple of weeks ago for a 40i and DHP was checked. I wonder if it will take it off?

The online configurator has nothing to do with your actual build. It is a marketing tool.

Call / sit down with a dealer that has a modifiable allocation and hope that it takes the option / locks the build when it is scheduled for production.

Forgot to reply to the question about the rate.

You should submit credit app today to lock the rates for 120 days. That way you don't worry.

If programs are better at delivery you take the new rates

Dumb question but can I fill out the app and lock in a rate without ordering a car today?

Yes just know that you lock with a specific dealer .

It is not a universal lock.

Speculation but the Fed will probably raise rates at least two more times this year and the FF rate will be 4-4.5% by years end.

BMW rates may go up Oct 1 so you should lock in now. Didn't know they lock for 120 days, is that for production builds?

Well technically if the car is on the lot today you drive it home.

But I think you are describing the situation where you lock and then stumble on a car at the lot ?

Same as above you are locking to a specific dealer

I’m dealing with this a bit with the stop sale. My rate lock expires in October but the credit union im working with said worst case you can take the check but not purchase the vehicle. Problem is you start carrying the interest charges for a car you do not have. So you need to do the math to see what a 0.5-0.75% increase to rates will cost you vs. carrying the loan for however long you need.

The Fed has been very clear they intend to raise rates more. Nothing is every guaranteed, but it's almost certain rates will continue to rise for a while. Unless, magically a report comes out that inflation has been curbed entirely, I don't see how the fed doesn't keep raising rates. Today's rates will be better than rates in the near future (99.99% certainty).

I figured everyone would say to lock in the rate so now the question is do I need DHP or IAS?

The entire intent of higher interest rates is to squash demand so that fewer people line up to pay well over MSRP for vehicles. The 1% loan party is over, but hopefully discounts to MSRP will return once the supply line returns to normal. The winners will be the few people with cash in the bank who will now earn a respectable return rather than subsidizing free money.

I have a good offer for my trade and 2500 savings including rebates and incentives so I'm tempted to take the deal and order even though dhp won't be on the new car

Dude/ dudette

I just placed an order yesterday with dhp. It is in the bmw order system.

Don't go by the configurator . It is a marketing tool.

Go by the ordering guide and the Bmw order system.

Your best bet is to place the order

The dealer told me they could add it but likely won't end up on my model if I order now. Thought?

Does your dealer have a modifiable alllocation ? Something in 111/112 status ?
