I just ordered the X7 40i in Manhattan Green (incredible color-configurator does not do this color justice) with the Black Shadowline trim. While I ordered it with the bi-color wheels (top picture), I'm having a bit of a change of heart. I'm wondering if I should switch to the Jet Black (bottom picture). Which setup do you guys think is a better match?
Thanks! |

Wheels
I ordered the Manhattan Green also with MSport and MSport Pro (I think the Manhattan Green looks best with the black grill - saw it on an X5 and really like it) and decided to go with the Jet Black 22" wheels. Disadvantage cannot order all-season tires with the 22" wheels in black.
I think either wheel looks good though. What color is interior? Coffee here. |

Is the top pic the 23" wheels?
If so be prepared to spend at least $4K on tires when they need replacing. Ask me how I know…

I really do love the top wheels, but they cover up so much of the brake calipers which makes it tough to decide.

Here is a picture of those same wheels on an actual car. The bi-color wheels are really nice but I'm wondering if the black wheels would match better or if it's overkill.

I think both wheels are fantastic for that car. I LOVE the color scheme. Love the green, love the shadowline with it, and I think cognac is hands down the way to go with it. If I was building one, I'd do the same.
Practically, I'd need an all season option. But enough about silly practicality… I think it depends on what you're going for. The bicolor wheels will make the shadowline more subtle. The black wheels will put it "in your face" and I think give it a "meaner" more aggressive look. Just gotta figure out which one feels better to you. Great choices!

Black - the wheels look great in person and match the sporty look of the build. IMHO.

Just my opinion, but the black and green combo looks great, but makes the blue stick out a bit. I'd also black that grill out with the pro package or a wrap. Either way, you'll have an awesome looking vehicle.

Imagine buying/leasing a $70k+ vehicle and leaving the decision of key options up to a bunch of strangers on the internet.

Dude!! WTF? I'm sure you're an important and smart person who never needs input from fellow BMW owners with good taste but you didn't answer my question. Silver wheels or black wheels?

Already did in my 1987 325is. I've been a BMW owner for 35 years so get off your high horse and if you're not gonna answer the question in a thoughtful and considerate way, get off this thread!
