The money factor is what the interest rate is called in leasing.
For example if you see a money factor of .00168, take that number and times it by 2400. 00168 x 2400= 4.032% interest. I believe this was the base rate for the X7. Some dealers markup the MF.

Same on my Audi.

Financing was just $100/month more. Glad I didn't do it because I'd still be looking at a negative equity of +$10K now.

New to the site but been observing for a while. I am getting close to pulling the trigger on a X7 in the next few weeks. I was wondering what add-ons (services, warrantees, etc.) do the dealers try to sell you after you have agreed on a car and a price? thanks in advance for the help.

The only one I got (and probably the only one needed in case you lease) is a wheel & tire insurance.

Do you guys get the BMW tire insurance or the dealership one? My Autonation guy told me they are the same coverage. I am ok if it's true since I have two autonation BMW around

I had W&T insurance on all three of my last BMWs. It’s good to have a piece of mind and not have to worry about the cost of replacing tires or wheels. Having said that, I think I replaced 4 tires on my first car, 3 tires on my second and 2 on my current car. I am in NYC where the roads are bad. So I am not sure it’s worth it especially with the $50 deductible per claim. I think I paid $1,200 first time and $1,700 last two times. Each tire is about $500-$600 with tax so you basically need 3 tire replacements to break even. Obviously if you damage the rims the insurance pays off right away. So I still plan to get it for my X7 for piece of mind assuming I can get a decent price but wanted to share my experience. Make sure you negotiate - there is definitely room. One other thing - the coverage is the same but the cost is very different if you get it in NYC vs LA, etc. I always do PCD so I have flexibility to buy from an out of state dealer to also save on W&T insurance, among other things

I will sign all the paperwork on Friday so I don't know yet which insurance I'm actually getting.

I also wanted peace of mind. Had the same insurance on my Audi but didn't need it, fortunately. However, on the X7, driving a vehicle with 22" wheels and 315 RF-tires, I wouldn't feel too good not having it.

For xdrives, if tires at or below 10/32 when get a nail. Supposed to replace all 4 tires for all wheel drive systems. Does W&T cover all 4 tires or just one? The insurance would be meaningless if cover only one. If I have to pay for the other 3, I would probably buy one from Tirerack and shave to match other tires, assuming have other cars and can wait a few days when Tirerack process and ship.

I can't imagine a world where they would cover all 4 without damage to all 4.

Also, the "wheel" part of the protection is a joke, it really only covers damage to the wheel so extensive that the wheel could no longer hold air. If a wheel gets that bad, you probably have suspension damage as well that would warrant an insurance claim. I have hit potholes hard that bent the crap out of wheels, split sidewalls of tires, etc., but haven't managed to crack a wheel in any way. Basically, except for more rare circumstances, you're effectively just getting road hazard protection on the tires at a steep price. You could pick that coverage up at any random tire installer (many will sell it even if you didn't purchase the tires with them) for pennies on the dollar compared to what the dealerships charge.

M50i quotes

I'm having a hard time getting any quotes on an M50i beyond ~4% off MSRP. I just joined the forum looking for help. Can anyone PM me a dealer they've had luck with or recommend a broker even?

I have a great contact on the east coast. Happy to share if you want to consider shipping or doing a performance center delivery.

I was able to get a little over 11% off MSRP on a built order for an almost fully loaded X7 40i. Hoping to pickup sometime this week.

Sure, here is the build link: https://www.bmwusa.com/build-your-ow...mo136r/summary

MSRP with destination is $90,295, my sale price is $80231.60, and with a document fee of $150 and TTL OTD is $85,733.14. I actually had a lower OTD offer of $85,500 (so below $80,000 sale price because sales tax on the $85,500 offer was 8.25% compared to 6.25% on the offer I took) but I had already given my word on this deal.

Also, I qualified for no incentives that I know of (no BMW owner, veteran, student, etc.).

Very impressive deal, especially considering it is on an ordered car (vice from the lot), a 40i, and with no BMW incentives (which is basically direct cash in the dealers pocket regardless of sales price). Care to share the dealer and CA name? If the dealer is in the mid-Atlantic (as far south as North Carolina) up to the Northeast, I would be interested to know (you can PM me if you don't want to put it out in the thread). Thanks!

@dqsfx jmciver yes

I've had good luck with my local dealers, but the best prices I found were from BMW Richmond. When I went shopping, I compared Charlottesville, Sterling and Fairfax. I tried the Maryland ones but they didn't respond to my emails. BMW Richmond was more than happy to ship it to me and delivered including everything including some extras like rubber mats and miscellaneous accessories. I can send the managers and sales guys that emailed with me.

In the end, I ended up working with my local dealership; but if I had to do it over again, it's probably worth it to search more dealerships and see if I could find a better deal elsewhere. But my local did price match Richmond after few days of fighting negotiations and I think I still left a few dollars behind but I hoped to build some goodwill with my local guys.

While I didn't buy from Richmond, I'd probably get my next one from them just because they are so much cheaper and I can get services anywhere up here. And it was painless and effortless to work with them on low price. Minimal minimum negotiation, quick solid low price quoted delivered to me for less than the "best price" from locals.

BMW Sewell of Grapevine (in DFW area). Sales person is Hunter Fowlkes and has been super helpful and very responsive to my messages (I've not met him in person, have done everything via email) and is one of the main reasons I decided to go with him.

Nachos Libres, I noticed that your build link is from Hilton Head BMW. Did you try to purchase your X7 from them? I am moving to HHI shortly and will be in the market for an X7 almost identical to yours. Be great to get a deal similar to yours. thanks for the help.
