You should aim for 14% or more on 2019s. I got 12% off MSRP for instock unit. I did not qualify for any loyalty though. My dealer at the time (late Oct) told me if I ordered one (xdrive 40i), I could still get 12% off.

I am looking at an 2020 X7 M50i, MSRP at $106,345. Including $3000 finance incentive, what would be a good purchase price to aim for? What would be acceptable? This is on the lot. Thanks.

I recently got 2020 4.0 X7 ($84,000 msrp) in NJ for $926 per month ($2900 at sign up) with 10k miles per year for 36 months. Did I do ok? Thanks

I just got info from another source that this might be wrong. Source claims that residuals are INDEED unchanged from last month AND that 40i and 50i M50i have the SAME residual.

Well, that would be fantastic. Guess I'll know conclusively firsthand early next week, when I begin getting quotes from dealers. Really not looking forward to this process, though...

Over 10% off MSRP excluding any rebates/loyalty

Pretty good deal! I'm guessing its around 11.5% overall discount (Not sure if you qualify for loyalty)

I negotiated my numbers for the M50i on Tuesday when the December numbers came out and I used the previous November numbers on my calculations which I provided to the dealer as well. I assume they would have corrected an error if it would have been in their favor (lower residual).

In addition to that, the dealer confirmed in an e-mail that 'there were not any rate or residual changes from November's program'. The part in ' ' is copied & pasted directly out of the dealer's e-mail.

BTW, here's my deal:

2020 X7 M50i
MSRP $123,525
36 months/7,500 miles per year
$3,000 down
10% off MSRP plus $1,000 lease cash
Wheel & Tire insurance included
Monthly payment (incl. 7% Tax): $1,497.

Quite amazing that this is only $150/month more than my current Audi Q7. Same money down, only difference is that Audi had 10k miles/year. However, on the BMW, I will still get the $1,000 BMWCCA-check which makes up for that.

The Audi was $88k and the BMW is $123k so go figure what the better value is..

How much did they charge you for wheel/tire insurance? They quoted me $3600 for 36 months but discounted to $2700 which I still think is way too much. BTW, I think you got a decent deal. Was your payment based on base MF of .00128?

Nicely done! Did you you have to push hard to get 10% off?

Two separate dealers confirmed to me that the residuals haven't changed from last month and are higher than they were at the beginning of November.

The dealer where I obtained my initial quote from and had that matched by my local one quoted me $2,452 for the wheel & tire insurance. When I provided that spreadsheet to my local dealer, the first thing they told me that I was 'overcharged' for that insurance.

So in my case, it could be that I won't be getting the 10% off the vehicle but will be getting a lower charge on the wheel & tire. I will be able to tell for sure tomorrow after I placed my order.

I have a feeling that the expensive wheel & tire insurances are the ones directly from BMW and the cheaper ones third party. As long as my dealer sells it though, I have no doubt they will honor it. FYI, the wheel & tire insurance I have on my Audi Q7 was only $1,200 through the same dealership group. I wouldn't be surprised if they would charge me the same price on the BMW as well.

The MF was slightly marked up.

Using the base MF of 0.00128, the monthly payment would have been $1,470. Based on my calculations, they used 0.00142, so the APR only increased from 3.07% to 3.41%. Over the entire lease, that's $970 more (or an additional $27/month).

Getting 10% off on such a vehicle in the Tampa Bay area is tough so I was willing to give that to them.

On my Audi, I only got 6% off and I'm just grateful that $150/month more will put me behind the wheel of such a vehicle. My 2006 760Li was actually $3k cheaper but the monthly payment was north of $2,200. I'm convinced that there is no better vehicle out there for $1,500/month.

Not really because I was somewhat prepared.

About six months ago, another forum member from Florida posted that he got 10% off on his order so I contacted him by PM. He told me the name of that dealership.

Fast forward to Tuesday: I contacted the same dealership, told them about my 'forum buddy' and his discount and requested the same. Initial reply was that 'Oh, on the 2020, I can only get you 7.5% off'. I asked them to send me a spreadsheet with the offer.

The e-mail I received said 'good news, sales-manager can give you the 10% off (plus the $1,000 incentive)'.

Only problem was that the monthly payment on the spreadsheet was higher than what it should be (they obviously did not know that I would catch the MF mark-up they initially tried to pull on me). The first quote was $1,539.

So I replied that the discount was great but the numbers didn't match.

The second quote included the wheel & tire for $2,452 which they left off the initial quote but they drastically reduced the MF so that even with the insurance, the payment went down to $1,509.

During a final phone-call, we agreed on $1,497 (I just wanted to stay below $1,500). They sent me a sheet for that quote as well.

Finally, I sent that sheet to my local dealer. My SA which I already contacted earlier was in a bit of a shock because she thought I wanted to bail on her.

I told her 'of course not, you would just have to match that quote'. She said she would have to show it to the manager and would call me back. 15 minutes later, she called and said 'I don't know what this dealership is doing. That's bad for the business. Although we are losing $6,000, we will accept that offer..." I just said that I was shopping around and was just looking for the best deal - like everybody else.

So in the end, we set up an appointment for tomorrow to place the order.

I don't seem to be having any luck with getting 10% off MSRP before rebates. I don't mind buying nationwide and having it transported to Texas. Anyone have some dealerships that they like to deal with that will make good deals like this on the 2020 x7 m50i? Thanks in advance.

I guess we are all in Dallas where BMW dealers don't understand that cars can easily be shipped from wherever they need to be to meet demand if they are not competitive on pricing.

I would also appreciate a referral of a resource in Dallas for a potential good deal on an X7.

Thanks.

And then there is a dealership in El Paso that won't budge of MSRP and I guess doesn't care to sell to anyone not in the area. He encouraged me to work locally to establish a relationship. That's fine but I only buy a car once every few years so I don't really need a relationship, I need a great price.

I feel like my response to that dealer would be, "OK, boomer." And I'm not even a millennial.
