Straight pipe or performance exhaust?
Hey!
After my break-in service, I'd like to modify the car (exhaust and tune) I'd like for it to be louder and for it to backfire harder/louder, but also daily-drivable. The only thing thats stopping me from getting a full akrapovic exhaust (which sounds orgasmic) is the price. I feel like 7000 euro for an exaust system is just way too much. I was thinking of having it straight piped (I'll have it custom made) and just put something like an akrapovic muffler on the end so I could have the valve to make it a bit quieter whenever necessary. Tuning-wise I'm not sure what to do. Do you think I should have it properly tuned by a professional, or use something like Bootmod3? What do you guys think? Post your ideas and suggestions, they'll be much appreciated! |

I am looking at the Carbahn tune and the AA midpipe for the same situations. I think the matching warranty only works in US and Canada, but the price on the tune is very good without the matching warranty. Lots of HP and an option for more overrun pops and burbles.

There are other options than only Akra, and cheaper. If you straight pipe it youll get so much in-cabin noice and drone it's stupid. These exhaust companies have made sure they minimaze drone, which is what you pay for also.
I think you should tune it with a professional that's going to dyno your car. BM3 is good, but it is an OTS tune. I have stg1 bm3, but i'll go to a professional tuner soon who makes a good map on rollers and road test. Nothing wrong with bm3 on road driving per se, but i wouldnt track my car with ots tune. |

Didn't cost Akra money, and it was a perfect fit. And best of all it sounds like stock when in comfort, you literally cant tell while driving that it is indeed an aftermarket exhaust. Sport and flaps open it's a different world, and sound is very good. Remus is also a good option. FI from what i've heard from videos is the loudest of all. |

Anything but straight pipe.
REMUS axle back + Active midpipe is the best sounding setup in my opinion

Would that give me that deep, OG M2 sound? What I want is to achieve that deep roar and backfires. But so far most exhaust setups on the S55 sound like they have broken metal bits in them

You can never make 2 engines sound the same though. I have a 13 Mustang GT, i bought it for the sound. No matter how much money i throw on the M4, it will never sound like my GT.

And damn, congrats on the mustang!! I always had a soft spot for mustangs, especially manual ones. They sound so mean. But with our icy/snowy roads during the winter, I'm not sure how they'd perform |
