Based on your location in your profile, I'd say a current very good deal would be $1400/month after tax with only the $1k loyalty/fleet incentive for a 36/10 lease and no MSDs. This is only paying first payment at signing.
No driveoff?

You are asking about not even paying first month's payment of $1400 at signing? Then take the $1400 and spread it out over 36 months + a bit of extra interest. Not sure if BMW allows true $0 due at signing leases, I haven't tried. It would probably add ~$40 a month.

Personally with today's residuals and interest rates, I would just finance the car. Especially if you qualify for the $4k military incentive.

Agree, 2.99% special for March. But you can only get 500 Military and 1000 loyalty.

Considering I estimated $1440 that seems spot on.

Again I would just finance the vehicle if I were you. For $1460/month at 2.99% you could own the car outright after 5 years instead of having nothing after 3 years.

Works out if you don’t get into a car accident. Friend was involved in one that requires substantial repair, resulting in a 30-40% loss in value compared to an accident free equivalent.

In this case the difference is $36,500 in payments over the 5 years ($87,600-$51,100). I very much doubt a scenario where the vehicle will not be worth $36,500 after 5 years, short of it being completely totaled. Right now the cheapest 2019 BMW X7 for sale in the entire country is listed at $32,500 with 90,000 miles. The cheapest 2020 is at $35,000 with 60,000 miles. The MSRPs on those vehicles were substantially less than $90k as they were pre-covid, pre-inflation.

Regarding your scenario, this is why diminished value claims exist for insurance. You are not made whole just because your vehicle is repaired. I hope your friend got a substantial payout before closing the claim. If not check the stature of limitations in your state -- my state is 2 years from the date of the loss. Your profile indicates you are in NJ, which I believe has a six year statute of limitations.

My financial specialist confirmed this. Any dealer discount negates the 2.99% but you can get 3.99% with dealer discounts.

This is incorrect. This is simply a greedy dealer.

A "dealer discount" is by definition, well, a discount from the dealer. It has nothing to do with incentives. The dealer can mark up a BMWFS rate by up to 1% and pocket this as profit. The dealer is essentially saying "I will give you the base rate of 2.99% but I will remove any discount". Incentives such as loyalty, military, etc. do not come out of the dealer's pocket, they come from BMWNA.

What TechCTU was referring to was that the military incentive on the X7, which is normally $4,000, does not allow you to finance with BMWFS. If you finance with BMWFS it drops the military incentive amount down from $4,000 to a measly $500, although it does let you stack it with the $1,000 loyalty incentive, for a total of $1,500. The reason this was pointed out is because the 2.99% rate (3.99% with dealer markup) requires financing via BMWFS, so you effectively lose $2,500 incentive to get the lower APR through BMWFS.

You need to decide whether this $2,500 is worth it to you or not. If you are a cash buyer, then it obviously makes sense to go with the higher incentive and not BMWFS.

But again, all this has nothing to do with a "dealer discount".

Just walk in ready to tell them what you want. “I want a 2024 with 10% off MSRP. Your 2025’s will be hitting the lot in April and these will be a year old so I’m sure you’re interested in moving them as quickly as possible.” Then let them come back with 8 or 9% off and make the deal. Remember, these numbers do not include incentives like loyalty or military. Don’t let them include them in the discount and act like they’re doing you a favor. BMW pays for those incentives and it doesn’t cost the dealer a penny. I just custom ordered my 2024 with an 8% discount off MSRP before incentives.

Exactly what Novvaa said. I went in knowing what I wanted and what was available. I let them come out with first number which was $3k off. I said I wanted 10% off MSRP and $1k loyalty and the 2.99% rate. They said they couldn’t do it, the most they could do was $6k. I said no problem, thank you, and walked out. 30 minutes later they called and said they would do $8k+$1k and 2.99%. I was happy with that. Done deal.

Can you share who the dealer is? I live in Minneapolis and the prices here are usually much higher than in Chicago. The last two vehicles (Porsche & Infiniti) I purchased were from Knoxville and Chicago.

The finance guy gave himself the max 1% markup on the APR! Find another dealer who doesn't do that!

Just gotta find a dealer who wants to play ball. Don’t be a jag off or a know it all, just be firm with what you want and understand it may not happen right when you want it. If you let emotion get it the way they are going to know and your not gonna get the deal you want. If you can’t play the game, hire a broker to do it for you.

I have done this many times and the last two times went through the broker. The fee I paid to the broker is well worth the hassle of dealing with the morons (not all the sale people are like that but many are) at different dealers.

MY25 Discount on custom order 4.0i

Hi all, I'm aware of the typical discounts available on MY24 X7s, but am about to custom order a MY25 4.0i with an MSRP of about $111,000. Will any dealers/can any brokers offer discounts on the new model year cars? If so, does anyone know what I should expect? Thanks!
