Help on 4K Dashcam or iPhone mounts for scenics

Hello X7 drivers.

I'm planning a NYC to Chicago to Salt Lake City to SF trip and the built-in 2023 BMW X7 front camera is only 480p.

I asked BMW and they don't have an official one. The Youtube suggestions are NOT for the X5 or X7.

What's best for the X7? Something I can take on/off quickly is a must. Video quality at 4K would be great.
I could not find a good suction cup mount for my iPhone 14 Pro Max or Samsung S22 Ultra. They're too heavy. Tried Mous's, and the top rated on Amazon.

GoPro is a good option. The suction cup accessory for GoPro is also very good. In the below video's I had GoPro attached to the car exterior . It was windy and I was driving with decent speed.

You have quite a few options to mount in inside as well

I went and experiment with a few gadgets. First was a heavy matt with a middle metal plate that I can attach a magsafe iPhone mount on. This is placed behind the large info center screen. Since suction cups cannot attach onto the leather dash at all.

I tried using the iPhone 14 Pro Max and got pretty great looking 4K HDR footage.

But, after 18 minutes or so, the recording stopped. The iPhone did not warn of any overheating, from the sun. The interior is 70 in my X7, so it's not even warm.

I also cannot use Apple Carplay when recording a video, so 0-2 in this experiment.

Will order a GoPro and a VIOFO dashcam A139 Pro.
