Adaptive LED Headlight worth the extra?
LED Headlights are standard for all versions of G30. However the new incomplete corona Full Adaptive headlight is a paid option of £1295.00 in UK. The complete ring LED headlights are free and could also be optioned to be 'adaptive headlight' for £490.00 and to to have high beam assistance for £95.00.
Thus the whole functionality of 'Full adaptive LED headlight' apart from its appearance could be got for £710.00 cheaper. So it is worth it just spending £710.00 extra just to have the incomplete corona of the Full adaptive LED headlight? Thus anybody also have a video link of a G30 without the Full adaptive LED headlight? |

For me the full LED is a no brainer. I'm not sure if the standard LED + adaptive function has the same amount of "adaptiveness".
You also get LED indicator lights and the overall look is much nicer on the full LED headlights.

Moreover regarding your statement, my current F10 is July 2011 build and is now close to 100,000 mileage (99700 miles) and has never had a single mechanical or electrical problem. In fact I stopped paying the BMW insured warranty sometime ago as I never claimed once. Moreover G30 520D is using B47 engine and the same drivetrain as F10. B47 is being in use since 2014 in f10 without any reported major problems. As far as I am concerned G30 520D is essentially F10 520D (from 2014) in a nicer clothe. However B57 engine in 530D G30 is relatively new and therefore its reliability is not yet proven, one of the reasons I have stayed away from it apart from constantly rising diesel fuel price in UK. |
