owner of Zeckhausen Racing said this:
It [E90] does appear to have a CDV. The BMW part number is 21-52-6-764-872. Unlike the other CDVs I've seen, this one has a plastic body and simply clicks into place. I ordered a couple of them to see if they could be modified. So far, I haven't figured out how to do it without breaking the valve. E90 Clutch Delay Valve E46 Clutch Delay Valve |

Update on CDV mod from Dave Zeckhausen (owner of Zeckhausen Racing - http://www.zeckhausen.com/):
"The E90 CDV is more restrictive than the traditional metal CDVs. The opening is smaller. The good news is that I have just perfected a technique for removing the valve mechanism without damaging the plastic body. A few valves had to be sacrificed for the cause, but it works now. I can provide modified E90 CDVs to anyone who wants them. I only have two now, but I'll be ordering about 30 new valves from Pacific BMW today, so I'll be stocked up in about a week. That's assuming, of course, that there are a large number of E90 CDVs available for purchase. This order may take them by surprise. " http://www.zeckhausen.com/CDV.htm |

Looks like a pretty simple install. I may have to do this. I haven't found that the clutch is THAT bad, but if the CDV mod gives you better clutch feel, and quicker engagement, then I am all for it.
I HATE working with brake fluid though. That is some pretty caustic stuff! Make sure you clean up all traces of it and minimize your exposure to it. I converted my old '73 Bronco to disc brakes over a weekend, and put in all new hardlines in the brake system (big job). I swore I would never do any more brake work. I went through 2 quarts of brake fluid bleeding the system! I guess this qualifies as "clutch" work, but I hate bleeding hydraulic systems! |

Zeckhausen Racing has their page up for the modified E90 CDV. Looks like you'll be able to order these pretty soon. Modified valves are priced at $35. See the following link:

If I understand the below link correctly the dreaded CDValve was never installed on E46 coupes(strangely it was on the M3's).
I wonder if this means it may not be on the E92 coupes? http://www.zeckhausen.com/cdv.htm |
