Steering column squeak
A really irritating high pitched squeak has developed when I turn the wheel regardless of the position of the column. The only thing odd that I can see is some sort of rubber type material that is present underneath the column that is protruding from the left side more so than the right. Any thoughts?

It doesn't sound like an electrical noise y'know? It sounds to me like a friction type of sound. One of those noises that is just going to get more and more annoying!

YES I HAVE THIS NOISE!
It's most pronounced at lower speeds and usually when I'm trying to park, so sharper turns. I went to get it serviced but I couldn't reproduce it during the test drive. It's definitely there though.. it sounds like rubber friction to me. |
