I think the one I saw had the CF roof too - I honestly don't remember. I know they had one of each there (you can see them both in pictures from different days, and someone snapped pictures of the alternates in the parking garage too).

I was in Detroit and they would not let me in the car initially.. I had a print out invoice/inquiry with me and knew more about the cars than the reps. They immediately let me in all cars and the cars are super nice inside. The HK stereo sounded great also. The Chicago cars look like the ones from Detroit and the YMB M3 did not have CCB.
My M3 to come this June

The female reps knew nothing about the cars. They tried to tell me no information was released on colors, options available etc. Plus they would let me see inside the car. I had to go back later, at even a busier time to talk with 2 tall cool guys that helped me out and showed me the engine, inside the cars, trunks etc and didn't let the rest of the crowd get in. It really made the trip from philly to detroit worthwhile for me

I'll take your word for it. I seered the images of the YMB color into my brain but didn't spend time looking at the roof. And I once I sat in the car I stopped paying attention to the exterior.

I know there was one with a CF roof there too though, because I saw pics on the forum. Same thing with the standard brakes.

Oh yes!!!! Glad to chat again. It was a pleasure seeing you there!!! We got some great attention from those guys! Plus a lot of envy from the other folks who couldn't get in!

I should add - assuming this is the same Black Sapphire M4 I sat in in Detroit that I think the Silverstone leather was holding up quite well. I sat in a 2015 Regal Red GT-R and the new beige leather had already picked up a lot of blue jeans dye.

Sitting in a Veyron for the first time was trip. The motor right behind you is enormous.

Also I should reiterate something I mentioned after Detroit - I would advise people to not order YMB unless you've seen it in person. It looks different than in the pictures in my opinion.

Have there been any pictures that you have seen accurately represent the color?

None that I've seen. It's more metallic and a lighter shade of blue than the pictures represent imho

I know I have a Jet Black 328 and it's a pain to keep it clean, but when is clean is gorgeous and very classic

When you say full leather you mean extended leather. I'm still confuse about this, the full leather covers the dashboard or not.

I have a question for those that seen the cars in person. I noticed in some of the pictures that the dash gauges lights are blue and not your typical BMW amber color lights can someone verify this.

I think the YMB is different. I recall the one at NAIAS having the full (or extended or whatever is more expensive) leather, but this one has the regular leather. But I could be wrong.

No Austin Yellow at this one either, which is too bad. More people should see that color in person.

In my opinion the vast variety of pictures we have here on the forum that capture the color in different environments do give you a reasonably good sense of what to expect. You just have to keep in mind that in under the bright lights of the autoshow stage it's obviously going to look much brighter.

No color looks the same in all conditions, so it is important to understand the full range if you are the type of person who gets put off by a color thinking it looks good in one setting but then realizing later it has different features that pop out in another.

There is a thread about YMB here where people are expressing opinions:

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=939259

And there are lots of photos throughout the forum to peruse. Check them all out and you'll get a sense for the varied personalities this color has.

I really wanted to see AY in person. I might have to order it, sight unseen.

What many people have failed to do, surprisingly, is to use a high quality DSLR and take RAW pictures and post process them using different white balances. But don't worry, your semi-professional photographer friend Stig is going to take thousands of pictures and videos of these next week in Philly Auto Show and post them here. I just hope they have YMB there.
