Exactly, those 23" wheels make it an ALPINA to the onlooker. The front and rear changes are nice but subtle. I think maybe a reason one would pass on the XB7 ALPINA is that it's not different enough from a standard X7 luxury model. They could have at least offered the Lavalina leather interior option to USA buyers.

I’d like to get my hands on those wheels for a good price so I could powdercoat them black. An extra 42k on top of the M50i just to say you have an Alpina is nuts.

Agreed. Disappointed with what the extra cost gets you. I was looking forward to what it would have but now that I have the loaded M50i I don't get the need... well I do get the need... it's for show alone given how it's priced and what it has. If anyone thinks this behemoth can be a sports car with the alpina version then they will be sorely disappointed. You can't defy physics. The M50i is great for the extra power but let's be real I don't know when I can use all the power it has presently unless on a track.... definitely not on regular roads with other people. That's why I think the M50i has just the right amount of power for what the vehicle is. Great vehicle and more than enough power everyday while being smooth as silk. Even more power would be useless in this type of vehicle because agility is lost due to its size and mass. So the XB7 alpina will be more money spent to have something you will probably not get worth out of. The alpina in car versions are probably a better buy if you truly want an alpina.

That is kickass in every way. It looks lowered to the the lowest setting. Love the color combo!

Exactly, nothing worse than a sales associate who doesn't know the difference - it's just merino. Lavalina leather would have:

1. Lower dashboard would have a split in at the radio controls
2. Door armrests and lower door panel in night blue, ivory portion would have XB7 embossed
3. Seat leather color would be the inverse of Merino IW/NB - Lavalina back of headrest, upper backrest, back of front seat panels in night blue

Could go on but, yeah, LOL. I posted a polite disclaimer.

I'm not seeing any of the dealer ordered alpinas moving fast off the lots at the moment. Has anyone sourced discounts?

Most of the ones I know that were ordered, including mine were ordered at discount.

I am sure discounts are available on these things.Dealers might be stubborn since they started getting it in 3 weeks ago after delay but I am sure 8-10% is doable in a month or two.

I sure wish Lavalina leather was available to US customers. It looks more premium in the videos I've seen compared to the Merino leather.

I have 3 build slots for them if anyone is interested

These are so hard to come by I wanted to post here first

Lease numbers don't work on it because BMWFS screwed up the residuals for some odd reason

It's interesting how our perception of something changes over time. Take the grill of the X7. When it was first revealed there was pandemonium among the BMW faithful, admittedly some still find it obnoxiously large. For me, a first time BMW buyer, the grill never looked overly large or out of proportion to the size of the vehicle. Now when I look at the X7 I find a grill to be average size at best. Many competitors have much larger grills. The new Cadillac Escalade for example or the new Mercedes-Benz GLS, larger than the X7 grill for sure. Yet no one says anything about those grills. I suppose with time everything grows on a person and the same is happening with the grill of the X7. It looks common place now to many.
