Tuning 2023 M340i xdrive
Hey I’m most likely going to do a Jb4 Map 3 tune on my 2023 M340i when it gets here with a bms intake and an AA catted DP. Hoping to make around 500hp and about 430 whp. I want to know how has you guys experience been with jb4 map 3 daily driving? Any issues at all? And what power were you making? And anything I should look out for.

m340i
So I have a Bmw m340i 2022 I have been trying to get my ecu unlocked no matter what the cost I just won't ship it overseas. So I run map 5 constantly with 93 octane. It's really nice for daily driving as long as u stay in comfort/and sport + when u wanna zoom. Arizona weather is so hot that during the summer your turbo will perform terribly compared to anywhere else. U can run it but its really not gonna change anything during summer here

Map0: Stock tuning, fully disable JB4
Map1: 3psi over stock added (91 octane) Map2: 4psi over stock added (91-93 octane) Map3: 6psi over stock added (93+ octane) Map4: Absolute target map with peak target of 20psi (93+ and/or 30% E85, EWG connector suggested) Map5: Absolute target map with peak target of 22psi (30% E85+ fuel, EWG connector suggested) Map6: Custom tuning map -- see details on JB4tech.com B58 JB4 page Map7: Progressive WMI map with tuning a function of meth flow and user-defined boost additive. Map8: VALET / Low Boost Map These number are suggested on BMS website for b58 engine. How are you running map 5 on just 93 octane? That is a lot of boost for just 93. Based on this they suggest running map3 on pure 93, anything higher should be mixing. I am in situation where I am trying to figure out what map I need to run. I dont have access to E near me. I want t run map3 on 93 octane, but I think I will go with map2 and will log map3 and sent to BMS t go over my logs to see if engine performs as it should. But 100% I would not run map5 on just 93.

Use the recommendation posted by totalone, and if you want a more aggressive map, datalog and send it to BMS. They will let you know if the car handles the extra boost well.
Don't run map five on 91/93 OP; just hope for the best. The car might run fine for now and one day, you might need a new engine. It's just not worth it.

Do not run anything higher than Map 2 if youre running 93. Map 3 on 93 is risky and you can potentially cause serious harm to the engine.
I run E30 to E35 with a custom Map 6 by the best jb4 tuner in the game, Jesse Dabears. When I run only 93, I go with Map 2. |

Okay and what do you need to do to run E30? Do I just add 3 gallons of E85 to my tank?

It depends on the quality of the E85 - from my experience, here in the Northeast, it can measure anywhere from 70-90% ethanol depending on time of year. Buy yourself an E85 tester from amazon, for like $15, and use an online Ethanol % calculator to get an accurate mix.

1.) Measure the E85 content (note: pump gas has 10% ethanol) 2.) bust out the online calculator to determine your mixture goal, i.e E30 3.) Pour the predetermined amount of 93 4.) Pour the predetermined amount of E85 5.) Turn on the car, ensure youre on Map 5, and then allow 20-25 minutes for the E85 to mix with the 93, and then go WOT to get that high |

If I were you, I’d hit up Jesse DaBears on instagram - the guy is a magician with custom tuning the jb4. He does a ton of work for guys with 21+ Supras. |

Im RWD, so limited in terms of traction. Best with dragy was about 12.0@119mph and 100-200 kph: 7.9. This was on map 5 - waiting for the fall cool weather to try it again with the custom map
