24 X7 Remote start from the App works 1 out of 5 times

Ideally, the BMW app remote start button is supposed to start your car from any where in the world since it is connected through the internet. For me, the BMW app start only works like 1 out of 5 or 6 times and never when I actually need it to work . Also, it takes a lot of time to produce an error that the action cannot be performed.

Is there any setting in the car that I am missing or is it same experience everywhere?

The Key Fob tripple unlock does work without any concern. works every time but for the Key fob I need to in vicinity of the car.

If the vehicle is parked somewhere with crappy cell reception, controls from the app won't work sometimes. The car has a 4g cell service to receive the requests from the app, don't know about the limitations of the cell networks it uses.

Trust me, I have the same experience when parked outside of my house.

I have a 21 X7 and mine works every time through the app. I also use my bmw app on my iwatch and it takes longer to start but it works as well.

I think LCI models use TMobile, while pre-LCIs use AT&T.
In my experience AT&T has much better coverage, while TMobile is really hit or miss. Can this be the reason?

I have a 2021 x5 45e and I would say it depends on the cell service of your area. Probably works 95% of the time. I think it is great to warm or cool your car before driving it (use it every day at the office before driving it), especially on the hybrid version as the gas engine does not start.
My wife is looking to get a X7 so hopefully it will work like in my case.

^^Bingo. Cell service and tower strength is the main reason. I am getting almost 98% success in commands to my X7 in my garage and I am in the mountains. When traveling, I get 99% success in commands as I do a camera check often. AT&T or Verizon has far better coverage. Generally speaking, BMW’s app is fair at best on BMW’s end. It was horribly unreliable only a few years ago regardless of service. It will never be 100% reliable and that’s why you can’t count on it for imperative operation. It’s always going to be a secondary operation behind the digital key. The key fob is the only fully reliable tool. YRMV.

I thought it was T-Mobile for ours too. But anyways, I've had zero issues with my app as well.
