You are both lucky. 320% tax on this in Singapore (they just recently revised/heavily raised the taxes again on high end lux cars). This is S$1million dollars here (well, S$1,018,888, approx USD$750,000). Not joking. Fk it.

This thing does not have a $170k interior. Absolutely insulting. This officially confirms that BMW has lost any semblance of respect for its customers. The most expensive BMW should be desirable. This thing is the opposite of desirable. I want to set it on fire and buy a Ford Explorer.

You guys have to remember this thing was not designed to the legacy BMW enthusiast customer. Its target audience is somebody else.
Its like Jack Daniels making a 0% alcohol version so people can think they're cool while drinking a jack and coke who don't like to drink. BMW created the modern Aztec. Well done.

Worst reviewed car ever?
Driving it at the same time as the M2 did not help. |

But, the health and general standard of living in Singapore would rank among the top 10 or so countries in the world, would it not? The cleanest city in the world, the best airport for the 12th time, very high wages and very low unemployment and crime

I have a XM on order but I think I'm going to cancel it.
Currently have a brand new X7 which I actually love. The XM seems like a downgraded version of my car. Less utility, rides rougher, and more expensive. Does anyone know if the back seats fold down? I might just opt for a x6m instead as I wanted something sportier. |

All this money and power and its slower than a X3M.
When has there ever been a lower model M car that has faster acceleration than a model above it, current generation? |

Just do yourself a favor and buy an X5M or M3 Touring.

BMW says they expect most buyers who buy the car to be first time BMW customers so it stands to reason most of us aren’t fans of it. Just because you own a BMW doesn’t mean you have to love every single model they make… |

TBH, I am tempted by this or the Alpina X7 for my next. More leaning to the the XM since my wife has an iX that has grown on me as well but need a hybrid.
Although, neither this or the iX would win any design awards. BMW is still the top when it comes to value for performance and comfort. |

Honestly in pics and in videos i wasnt too sold on this thing, thought it had alot of ugly design cues to it, but i saw it in person yesterday at my dealership while i was serving my x5 and i must admit, in person i thought it looked pretty good, very aggressive, my only beef was it didnt seem to justify the price point, the model i saw was a white one with the black trim. There was also a blue one with gold trim and i did not like the gold trim at all

The seats in the back are cheap looking. The pattern is ugly looking and they are flat. Long gone are times when even the rear seats were a real piece of art and used to have a wonderful defined shape... Just a flat bench.
The speakers and their plastic frame is another eyesore that lacks any design language. I am absolutely convinced that BMW design team is made of ex commercial-freezer designers. The lack of luxury perception in late BMW vehicles is appalling. And that gold trim and the interior screen... What a terrible looking vehicle. |

It’s all funny until the design cues cascade down the chain. If this sets the bar for BMW design for the coming years, turn around and run.
