I use F80 M3/M4 front pads- zero noise, great bite and stopping power.

I have a '14 F30 with MP Brakes (dimpled rotors) and I used to have the noisy issue at low speeds, especially after braking hard with everything hot. I'm amazed that I have had 0 brake noise after changing from my stock wheels/tires to much lighter VMR/Hankook setup. I can't explain it, but I'm not complaining either!

Maybe VMR wheels distribute heat better/faster?

Perhaps...My OEM wheels were the 401's, which aren't an open design, but the VMR 803's are much more open (shows off red MP brakes!) which I'm sure dissipate the heat much better!

Mine squeal once they get dirty and they dust like a muthaf*cker. I'm so annoyed by the dust that I think I want to change pads.

I'm bringing my car in for service this Friday to have the dealership look at the front brakes. The noise that is coming from them is horrendous. I run racing brakes on all of my other cars with track only pads and the sound isn't this bad. Applying the brake under like 5mph and you get a high pitched squeal.

I have also noticed that my pads dust like crazy... my wheels are literally always dirty.

My E90 was like that. When the they were due for service, I bought Brembo's (normal rotors, not slotted or drilled) and their red pads. They had amazing bite and pedal feel (better than the m sport brakes that I have now), and almost no dust. Cost wise they were $800CAD for 4 wheels (with sensors). The Zimmerman version (OEM) was $650CAD. Definitely worth the extra pennies.

You will find that ceramics like the m-sport aren't as smooth/quiet (especially when they first bite or release, but they give a lot stronger pedal feel and better braking).

My 2013 BMW 335i M-sport sedan has had the rear brakes and rotors replaced 2 different times. Front pads replaced 2 times. Front rotors and pads replaced 1 time and rear brakes, caliper holders and pads replaced just this last month. 1 month later its back again. The brakes are fine when cold but when they get warm in traffic or stop n go on the highway the squealing is back. Its embarrassing to drive such a beautiful car and listen to this squealing every time i valet park. The first set of front pads nearly no dust. These last 3-4 sets are making my rims black in 2 to 3 days. Any one have any answers or pad brand ? I used Centrix drilled and slotted rotors and their carbon ceramic pads on my 2009 328i M-sport and never had an issue.

f30 Brakes Squeal - Awful

I have heard brakes squeal badly, but mostly in older, cheaper, crappy cars that should probably not even be on the road. When you purchase or lease a high end vehicle like an ///M Sport BMW, you expect the BEST of everything. My 2014 f30 ///M Sport began having awful brake squealing after a routine service. They have been terrible ever since. After 5 trips to the dealership, all they can suggest as a remedy is braking hard at least once a day. Thanks, but I don't need whiplash to complement the back pain from the uncomfortable seats (that's my other post). It's safe to say BMW refers to itself as "The Ultimate Driving Machine" not "The Ultimate Stopping Machine" for a reason. Brake squeal is now a part of my daily soundtrack until the day the lease is up. #squeal

BMW even states the brake dust and noise on all new purchase cars...its in the welcome kit (or whatever its call) in the glove compartment.

I know its annoying but its been like this for 15 years of owning 3 diff bmws and they all do that. Yes I also agree the seats are uncomfortable.

If my next car is not a M car...it will NOT be a bmw

I'm running M performance brakes with 442M wheels which are quite open too and get zero noise. With the one exception of when I am tracking the car, there was a light squeal when brakes were super hot at low speed indeed.

In normal daily use, zero noise.

The strange thing is that it did not become an issue until year 2 of my lease, after a routine service.

Could not agree more!

My in-transit-from-Germany MY17 440i GC has M Sport brakes as part of ZTR Track Handling Package. Made a note to watch for excessive brake dust and squealing noises.

What the verdict about brake squealing noises on 340i vehicles with M Sport brakes?

I have no squealing from the 340 with m-sport brakes. Dust is very minimal (my E90 335 was brutal for dust).

True verdict on dust will show up next time in the rain though (seems to wash everything out and spray it on the rims).

Very impressed with pedal feel and braking power with the m-sports though. I cranked on the brakes coming off the highway to see how they compared to the E90, and then spent 1/2 hour with a popsicle stick trying to figure out how to pry my brain off the front of my skull.
