2023 LCI recall for headlight software?

Anyone got the same message when logged into myBMW. I noticed the warning saying I need to get my car to the dealer so they can update the software for the headlight to comply with some US regulation. What if I don't bother with it?

Looks like you picked yours up before the headlight issue stop sale. Most of us were hung up in that for a while until bmw came out with a revision.

I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it done. The dealer should update the software the next time you are in for service.

On a different note. Just curious… how many miles on yours? And have you had any issues?

I have about 2k on mine and it’s been flawless. Just some random ghost errors once In a while. But they go away with the next restart. Picked it up mid October.

Thanks for info. No issues so far (~1100miles). The only complaint I have is the sensitivity of the key and its behavior. The door got locked / unlocked when I go back and forth moving stuff from the cargo into my house (or vice versa) with the door / trunk open. It should know that when I keep the door open I don't want to lock the car. And other times when I get out of the car from the driver seat and go to the rear passenger seat to grab the baby, the door does not unlock for me. So there is some logical bug in their system.

Also it's so annoying that sometime I was just walking around the house with my dog and the car got unlocked randomly. It's just too sensitive and I wish I can adjust the radius of the approximaty sensor.

Yes I agree with everything you said.

I also have no idea why it tries to lock the car when there is a door open. You can hear it try as you walk away. My 2020 X5 did not do that.

Hopefully they clean up some of these issue with software updates.

Otherwise I love the vehicle.
