Issues with internet
I have att subscription and recently dealer was exchanging something in my communication module, I noticed that. Ow I can connect to WiFi however there is no internet, called ATT and they say all is good however they see no data usage which confirms my case, dealer is looking in to this and does not know what is going on, so I am in the middle Any suggestions? Car seams to be connect to the world as I can see in the App it's status, can check fuel and car status but no internet for my devices

If they never changed it at&t will have the IMEI from the old module It's like buying a new phone with a new sim in it and not transferring the numbers |

Has your vehicle internet hot spot ever worked yet before the repairs? There is I believe a 3 GB trial or 3 months, whichever comes first. Only option for service is at&t which it sounds like you are already aware of. There is a website that shows how to get started. Type in "BMW WiFi hotspot" in google and there will be a PDF that has all the info. A couple other things you could do; while in the vehicle hold the power button on the radio for 30 seconds until the head unit restarts, this will perform a soft reset. Get out of the vehicle and lock and let it sleep for 20 minutes. Get back in vehicle and go to connected drive screen and click to the left on the idrive then click option and click "update apps and services". This may reset the backend services to the vehicle and help restore the connection between network and vehicle. Last option after all that is done, hit the SOS button on the Roof function center and ask the operator if they can see your location and VIN and verify the info you have on file with your vehicle. They will be able to tell you all the subscriptions you have from BMW but I'm not sure if they can see your WiFi subscription. It will be able to at least check if the vehicle is communicating properly to their network though. |
