Brake pads replacement front only (seattle cost)
So im in Seattle and remember some seattle folks here going to third party mechanic that had good reviews and wondering if you can reccomend . I can go dealer but trying to shave cost if workmanship is done right.
Attached photo and think just brake pads need replacement for the front Also, anyone recommend a third party brake pads to get online and let mechanic do its job? I have 28k miles and drive aggressive is this normal for front brakes? |

I had this pop up on mine at around the same mileage as well.
I drive like a grandpa. 99% of the time in ECO. I really really doubt this is a notification that the pads NEED to be replaced. Rather that they recommend they are checked...not automatically replaced. I used BimmerLink to remove the warning 4K miles ago (6 months?) and it has not resurfaced. Paul

I would like to think I drive spirited as well. I am at 30k. Sport Ind most of the time I am driving, wife commutes sometimes with it. I will have to check my gauge. With how much I clean it I know the rotors look great. No noise. The job to replace them seems straight forward compared to my other BMW's.
Have the problem to me is finding aftermarket parts. OEM is great but if we can do better I am all for more safety. My work Hyundai Sonata needs the brake system "Checked and lubed" every 10k miles according to the dealer. |

Look between the spokes and see how much of the pads are left.

Where can i get bimmerlink? Is this one of those oreilley type odbt type checkers? I went to a third party respected brake specialist and said I still have around 2-3k miles on pads so I think i will need to replace it but just wasn't sure when. So are you gonna just keep driving until you hear squeaking noise or something which is bit dangerous |

Once the check control message states a yellow or red brake warning and a "replace brake pads" message then you can be sure the brake pad sensor has been tripped and the brake pads are in fact due.

Could you still replace your brake pads before the trigger? That way you can reuse the brake pad wear sensor cable, you know to save 20-30 bucks lol.
