Do you mean Sensatec? If so that is not leather, that is a very nice vinyl.

"Entry-level BMWs don’t get real leather as-standard kit. Instead, they get a synthetic leather called Sensatec. It looks real enough and it feels pretty good but it’s not real leather and it’s certainly not as comfortable, soft or luxurious as real leather. The upsides of it are the fact that it’s inexpensive and durable. So it will hold up for years and years, with little-to-no maintenance. Also, it’s vegan, so anyone that doesn’t want real cowhide in their BMW should go for Sensatec."

Ahh yes, Sensafin is the new version of Sentastec, still not real leather. I am assuming they will have an option for real leather as well.

At least in the US, on the current X7, Sensatec is the base seating material, not Vernasca leather.

On the 40. On the m50, Vernasca is standard.

There is no real info beyond the presser and first impressions yet. It is environmentally friendly sustainable synthetic leather. It is supposed to be better than the leather it replaces in terms of comfort and quality. In fact, I believe there was a comment from a launch event attendee that BMW believes many will choose this over the upgrade leather.

Only way we will really know is when we start getting buts in seats.

If you have messy kids, don’t bother with the leather unless it comes with a package you want. On my first X7 the 2yo vomited on week 1 and I was very happy I had Sensatec. Super easy cleanup and no lingering smell. I also had a protectant put on it that helped.

I found a UK site to Build & Price a 2023. There you can see the Sensafin in only two colors...a black and a silverstone color. In UK they only offer 2 colors in Sensafin.

This is how BMW described it:

"A new, extremely high-quality vegan surface material called Sensafin comes as standard equipment in the X7 xDrive40i. Sensafin has leather-like properties, exclusive three-dimensional quilting, and surface perforation to enhance seating comfort. It is available in Black, Silverstone, Cognac and Coffee."

They also said it is extremely soft. Here are pictures of the Cognac and coffee in Sensafin.
