Will dealer do an oil change couple hundred miles earlier?

My 135 has 8500 miles on it and the computer stated my 1st scheduled oil changes is 9000 miles. Can I take in my car for the first scheduled visit now or do I have to wait for it to pass 9000 miles? Any one know. Thanks.

I don't see why you would have to wait.

Do you mean your dash readout reads 9,000 miles? If so, you have 9,000 more miles until the first free change (about 17,500 total in your case) as the dash reading is a countdown.
Or you can get a free oil/filter change when one year has elapsed from delivery - whichever comes first.

Did you pay them? I don't think they'll give you the free oil change at 2k km...

I don't know this to be the case with BMW but time as well as mileage could decide when to take it in.

For example, it could be 5k miles or three months, whatever comes first.

are u sure its a countdown? my car has 8700+ miles on it and my dash says 16000miles when it starts up... also my service info says next service should take place in may 2010 and i took delivery in may 2008 so the 1 year mark is may 2009

Yes - it shows 'Remaining driving distance" and the "Expected date" of the next service.
You can have the oil changed before then if you wish, but it will be at your own expense.

It does say 9000 miles upon start up. So my next free oil change will be at 17,500 (9000 + 8500) miles??? Is this true? Also, when the time comes, will it give me a warning signal to remind the schedule maintenance?

you are driving too slow!

just kidding... the computer adjust the service to how you drive it

If you are really hard on it you will get a service light as early as 12k, but most will be at 15k.

However i paid to have mine changed at 1500 miles and 5000. And i will be changing every 5k.

If this is the case, I will do my own oil change at every 5K miles. Thanks for your help.

The dash reading will continue to countdown - but it may not be linear according to your driving habits. So it could be 5,000, 9,000 or 12,000 miles from now depending on your driving habits. You might check with your dealer as to when (at what mileage remaining) you should make your service appointment.

Rather than a warning signal, it will probably begin a negative count if you don't have it serviced (and reset) at zero.

While I think 5,000 mile changes are a waste (I do mine at 8~10K intervals), it's your money. Just make sure that the dash countdown is not reset as you will then put your free service that much further into the future.
