They still have it. No word yet on the status.
I was a Lexus owner for the past 15 years. I never I had one single glitch…
I really love my X7 but am. Very frustrated. It came off the truck with the check engine light on too!
LEXUS is always near the near the top of the reliability list because they perform a though checkout of new hardware and software. BMW isn't the worst but they frequently let customers identify issues instead of them doing it.

Once it got to the dealership it started right up and no codes Ofcourse! I had to leave the car in my garage and get a ride to work. It said there was an update available.
I started the update before I left.
Has anyone else noticed a correlation with updates and the faulty codes?

I am on my third x7. 2023 times two and now a 24. On both occasions they discounted the new x7 and gave a trade in value that set the cost close to even (with exception of options previous cars didn’t have). Sure they have made a ton of money of these cars. This will be my last if anything comes up.

I got my X7 back today. There was nothing to repair. They checked every and performed several updates. Test drove for 49mi
and did several cold starts… I guess I will keep my 🤞🏼

No one can say that you haven’t given the product a chance… it’s such a shame. I just love the car. I hope the 3rd time is the charm for you!l

Got the car back today and less than 10 miles later I got the drive train malfunction error again. I made it into the garage this time. It started up an hour later and this time just the check engine light is on. I will try to drive it back for service tomorrow. Service said there was an error with power supply in the mild hybrid.

Took the car back and was able to drive it with the CEL on. They updated software and did a 50 mile test drive. CEL came back on. They requested a BMW engineer to come in for inspection. Got a call today that a new transmission is needed. Said 3 ish days for the transmission to arrive and then time for labor. Hopefully end of next week I will get the car back.

Told I just added 1.5 hours to the service. Great news. Was going to wait but then had my wife drive 20 mins to pick me up so I could just log in and do some work from home. Go back after a few hours and pick her up. That night, was going to move the car into the garage and got the dreaded message. Don't drive - call roadside assistance. Thankfully I was on my driveway. Called the service department and left a message. No call back by mid morning next day so I text the service advisor. Go back out and the message is gone but the check engine light is on, so I drive it back to the dealer. They do another software update and can't clear the errors, so the put me in a rental. Takes a week for them to figure out the problem. Pick up the car and there's no paperwork trail at all. No indication of what was wrong or what they did to fix it. Pretty positive it was software related but pretty shitty to treat it so nonchalantly. Whatever software fix they did for the potential fule pump issue obviously screwed something else up. I am feeling a little let down by the whole experience. Is this what we're up against now? Vehicles that act like they're a windows 11 machine and need to have software uninstalled and reinstalled in order to keep operating smoothly? Just leave your car at the dealer for a week? No big deal? I guess if nothing goes wrong for a few years now I shouldn't complain. But.... if this happens again in a few months, I may start thinking about my options.
Similar thing with my 2023 x7 m60. Drivetrain error, doesn't start at all and I couldn't get it into neutral to push out of my garage. Dealer updated software for TFE (fuel pump). Working fine for now. However, the transmission was replaced last year because it wouldn't charge the battery. Two big strikes for me, if something occurs for strike three, I'm done.

The drivetrain error after the software update was the only issue I've had with the vehicle, and that was just a software issue (no mechanical problems). I just thought the way it was handled was BS. But yeah, if I were you I'd feel the same way. It doesn't leave you with much confidence when your transmission is being replaced in your brand new car. I too would be one strike away from being rid of it.

Add another to the "drivetrain malfunction" list. 125 miles on the car. Custom ordered 40i. Just picked up the car 6 days ago. The warning came up when I was taking the carseats out of the car and car wasn't even on. Already had an appointment with the dealer today for minor cosmetic issue found on delivery. Hoping I can get it to the dealer.

Garage List
2024 BMW X7  [9.25]
2024 X7 40i which has about 8500 miles on it.

Yesterday my X7 had a similar problem (I'm not sure if this is the same problem though) and BMW app showed this message:

- 350 - Drive Train : Cont. driving possible: Four-wheel-drive syst.

This was the 2nd time. I got this problem a couple of weeks ago and I ignored it since X7 worked normally after restart.
When I had the problem, the steering wheel was heavy and accelarating response was not normal.

This time, after restarting the car, the problem and warning light were gone and I could drive normally again.

Today it still worked o.k. but I couldn't trust it anymore and dropped it at a dealership.

Hopefully I would be able to get mine back soon.
