2024 X7 xdrive40i tramlining
I have about 400 miles on the new X7 now. At highway speeds I'm noticing tramlining to a degree that it seems like something is wrong. I've had it on multiple different road surfaces during windy and no wind conditions so I don't think that's the issue. The X7 has the 22" wheel option with the 275/40/22 front and 315/35/22 back. Yes, I know the 21" would have been ideal but my wife insisted on the 22" for the appearance. I'm familiar with the way run flats drive I have them on my Lexus LC500. Noisy and not ideal but it doesn't have the tramlining issue. Any advise?

Great question. Just went out and checked. All 4 tires are 42-43 lbs. They are on the hot side I just finished a drive about 30 minutes ago. That would still put the front over the recommended 36 psi though. I'll set them at the proper cold tire recommendations and report back.

I have the same wheels/tires and get pretty bad tramlining as well, constantly have to correct to stay in the lane. I know others have chimed in with the same setup, I think it's unfortunately just a side effect of the wheel choice.

I have 21" with RFT tires, tramlining is still a problem. I tried varied pressure combinations, and in my case running 3~5 psi higher than recommended seems to be the least problematic - that's not saying it fixes the problem, because it does not. I think this has to do more with suspension geometry, and the choices BMW took to attempt to keep the best sport handling. Notice also how X7 devours the tires.

Well darn that's not the response I was hoping for. I really don't like these run flats. I know the options for 22" tires are limited in non-run flats is anyone having good luck with what's available? Has a toe adjustment helped anything with the run flats?

So weird as I currently run them as my winter set.
Their website is screwy as hell. Here’s the Scorpion Zero in that size: Scorpion Zero |
