If you are willing to go uncomfortable, don't mind some weight ( you like verts. ) and want huge power why not a GT-R? Otherwise the new Benz C63 offer big power potential and has a panorama roof, not full vert but closer. If your current car has 600 whp and you don't mind the handling shortcomings of a 335 vert. the M4 might not be the right car. It has a very good chassis but nowhere near the power potential of a GT-R or C63. The C63 should also feel more luxurious what I hear from people who have driven it. But make sure to drive an M4, it's a real M3 with excellent balance between chassis and engine and no real weakness. Great car.
Good input. I was hoping they made some power improvements for the M4 to pump up the turbos a bit adding 100 or so HP/TQ.. C63 is a possibility but I'm a manual transmission guy and would miss it greatly. The C7 Z06 is a 2 seater but verts with Z07 performance suspension and a few other goodies can be had for $85,000 new. GT-R is awesome but it's still more pricey and I'd have to go used. I'd spend the extra coin if it was worth it but I can't see myself doing that for a Nissan. Maybe a BMW or Merc.

Thanks for the input though. I guess the list is now-
M4, C63, Z06, GT-R. Tests drives will be coming in a few months. I'm looking at year end for this.

True. But I'm planning 6 months out. When's it coming? Is the interior basically as luxurious? I'm a financial exec and have to drive for hours a day. But I'm in Florida so the roads are pretty much smooth and pothole free. more power would be nice. Anyone doing something like a Cobb or Juicebox tune for the turbos?
You are definitely not a GTS customer.

GTS will be a track-ready rat with a roll cage, not suitable for driving without a helmet.
Will not be available as a convertible.
Would not be a DD candidate.

If you can't stomach a new GT-R, GTS will be wayyyyyyyeeee out of your budget.

ummm... yah I thought the M4 was not a big difference from my E92 M3 because the stupid Salesguy didn't know jack about driving with the M4 Engine cold! But once the M4 warms up with full settings, it is a MONSTER in every aspect. You should test drive the M4 with someone that knows it first before you decide anything else.

I doubt you'll like the GTS as a DD. The E92 GTS had a roll bar so no back seats, fixed back front seats and a race type coilover suspension. Not exactly "luxurious".

Ok. Skip the GTS. What about the M4. What upgrades power wise are available? Any common problems people are having?

Yeah sounds like you'll be perfectly fine with a JB4 and the stock M4, there are plenty of youtube videos showing pulls and a few dynos floating around.

Nick Murray recently posted a video comparison of a E85 tuned JB4 M4 with his stock M4

Late to the game. I guaranty you all the GTS are spoken for.

Go for a modded M4.

Good luck!

Just out of curiosity, how would someone get an allocation for such an exclusive car? I assume the dealers would be useless.

Dealers probably know how many of these they are getting and have a customer for those cars already.

Edit: MONEY the more you're willing to dish out the better your chance.

This just isn't true unless you are saying that all the allocations are being taken by the dealers they have been offered to. But to say that all dealer allocations have been accounted by customers, just isn't true at all. I know everyone is lathered up for the new car and some are "in the know" but we're starting to go over the line into hyperbole. We all need to pump the brakes a little bit.

And lets face it, a good bit of the blowhards around here will get alligator arms when the time comes to order the car and pay for it. We all know you're not in that camp but this is a fickle bunch around here who like to lease their cars and get amazing deals that don't add up. So there will be plenty of backouts.

Yup it is way early to really determine anything concrete but it is true that there are some people that have relationships that extend further than others when it comes a lottery for such a car. It happens regularly with Porsche, Ferrari (and so on) limited models.

All I'm saying I've known about this for at least a few weeks and I was deep in the list when I found out.

It's very special I hope to get one.

Yes, all this! If you don't have a relationship, then you are probably going to get bumped, pay a premium or have a hard time finding one. But yourself, much like I, were in there telling them it was coming and asking to get on the list well before it was even a real car so they know we are real customers. And they know they already sold a car which is comforting to them well ahead of time.

To me, it's a no-brainer. M4.

The Nissan is crazy fast, but offers little else, in my opinion.

The CTS-V is fast, but does not age well. Depending on what year (are the new ones out yet?), they are old technology.

The M4. Luxury, performance, technology.

Only 700 to be made. 300 only to the USA. So get your wallet out and get a lot of $$!!

In my opinion the GTS also looks horrible. Obnoxious front splitter and a fixed wing on the boot that's practically laughable. Yeah it's got 68bhp more but... a standard M4 and a JB4 and you're already past that. Add in the gross orange rims and the ridiculous price... it's a no from me. These are my personal opinions of course.

These cars are going to be hard to come by and unless you like paying ADM or have some crazy hookup your chances of getting one will be rare.

My guess is the car will have a 50k mark up on it, and if you're not using it for the tack full time my opinion it's not a looker at all for the street. Would not drive a car on the street with a roll bar personally unless I was 19 again(:

Also for that price point close to 200k I would not buy because of all the other choices out there. Mclaren, GT3 ( I'm biased), used 458, Mercedes GTS ( new by the way). Just my two cents.

Greg, for you the C63S would be the best bet. Tons of power, comfortable to drive and tons of options (air cooled seats are my favorite).
