I just updated my 2024 X7. Downloaded to phone and transferred to X7 while driving (automatic). The got notification to ‘install’ the update. I had it parked in my garage and updated via iPhone app. Got success message after about 15 mins. I haven’t driven it around after the update yet. Will post tomorrow after I take it for a spin.

Just drove around. No issue or glitches so far. Noticed while taking a left turn with yellow arrow, it blinked ‘red light’ symbol and chimed. Maybe I was bit fast approaching the lights. Not sure if it is from this update though.

Completed update this afternoon and nothing new for welcome lighting. Only choice is how long it stays illuminated.

FYI to those who did the update. Remote start stopped working. I checked in the menu and the update unchecked "start engine with pre conditioning" in the climate menu so probably may want to take a look at yours.

As Fyi - This happens with every update. They say it is a safety thing.
My issue is that the automatic time setting now thinks I am in the Maldives (and that time is actually wrong as well). I set to east coast and then manually moved the time forward three hours. Annoying. All else seems fine with the update.

I have a 2024 X7 and last week I updated it. The welcome light feature doesn’t show up in my car. I contacted BMW Genius hotline and after 20 min the guy was shocked that my car possibly doesn’t have this feature, even though it’s a brand new, higher end car. Of those of you that have an x7, do you have this feature/option. I also purchased and subscribed to the traffic camera information and entertainment features. But I can’t see those subscriptions and apps/features in my car. I see the features on my connected drive app but not in my car. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Have you done an update apps and services ?

Do that then hold the power button until it reboots when the engine is on

When I go into apps and services, it states that my car is updated. But ill try holding the power button to force the reboot.

Yup it’ll usually only take a few seconds for the check to happen, then it silently does things in the background.

Doing the power button forces a reload , and is what the connected drive team slays advise when you contact them

I have a 2024 and also updated it. I don't have any welcome light.

I also subscribed to the entertainment feature and after a heavy search and troubleshooting, I still got nothing new.

Entertainment and traffic camera information finally showed up on my car by itself after six days

I just checked and I am running 11.2023.58

Its interesting as I have it set auto DLs off yet my phone told me my software was updated a few days ago.

Are there any changes I should be looking for?

Now I don’t have an X7, but I just got 11/2023.58 put on my 2024 540ix today at my dealer. I got some botched OTA software update (had 11/2023.20 on delivered new car that remote parking did work with) a couple weeks ago that uploaded to the car, and then BMW recalled it at 50% update status. Completely messed up my Remote Control Parking and made it error upon pushing the app button for the feature. This .58 version has fixed it. .20 was the latest OTA version my app was stating.

“Please know that Welcome Light Animation is currently not available for X7 models.”

- so why was it listed as a feature I would get if I updated my X7?!?! And I had a screenshot?

It seems clear bmw isn’t in touch of what version of software applies to which bmw model. Disappointed….
I guess I have to be thankful I can still drive my x7 after this update!

Checked today options and what a surprise - new welcome lights settings!
ID8,5 version is same just some how this options and Spotify option showed up.

Correct my if I am wrong (or buggin'), but the new welcome lighting feature seems to only effect the tailights; I didn't see or notice anything with the headlights?

Now what I find odd, disturbing, slightly frustrating, and confusing is that it appears that the X7 is the only model that receives these new lighting effects free of charge! The same welcome lighting effects are currently a $50 upgrade in the 7 series (incl. i7) - even with its most recent iDrive 8.5 update. That said, I was only able to find a description about the new lighting settings/features via the connected drive store..... mannn I don't even know what is going on anymore lol

Did not had chance to test/compare it properly but yes i saw that it affects taillights.
