State of the art. I have watched the latest Porsche 911 manufacturing over and over. Both the BMW and Porsche build their cars in the exact same way. What I have noticed with Porsche and BMW is how sterile and controlled their entire line is right down to low noise. The manufacturing procedures and steps are identical using the same equipment. Great attention is taken to pad and protect the vehicle and parts as they are being installed.
Everything is in exact place and order for each special build without any extra parts or clutter. Where there are human hands they all are focused and move at a robot like attention to detail with no excess noise. This is how it is suppose to be done. You would never know that monster factory was in South Carolina. Last edited by MystroX5; 01-20-2021 at 08:54 AM.. |

Great video!!!
Amazed by the amount of robots used. I work for a heavy machinery manufacturer and aside from welding cells most of our assembly work is still pretty human based. Jay

Yea, the money BMW invested in that size of a factory is staggering. That place is the size of a small city. |

Makes me want to go take off my front and rear bumpers after looking at how easy they went on towards the end of the video....

The video makes it seem like it should take a week to build and deliver to your dealership. A five min video to build.....so how in the hell does it take 2 months to get to my dealership 😂🤣

Factory tours are back on for PCD customers, as I did a PCD last month (Jan '21) and there was a tour.
