best car to start with?
I'm in the market for a car after turning in a 335is on lease. For the next car, I like to push the power up into the 400's. What is the best 335 for that? Any particular model yr better than others? How much power does the stock clutch/6spd hold? How about the automatic -- how well is it holding up to power?

Apparently the 2007s are the fastest. Go with manual if you're planning on doing a single turbo. If you're content with FBO/Meth/RBturbo then Automatic will be the fastest. Well DCT will be the fastest but you already returned your car.

I went with a 07 6MT with 23k miles.
Tune, dci, DP's, 255 Walbro pump and E60 and I can pull on my buddies 2002 450whp head/cam FBO Trans am. Need a clutch though, my guess is the pressure plate/clutch can't handle anything past 450wtq. Last edited by Miller335; 07-16-2014 at 02:23 PM.. |

Uh if you plan for single turbo and big power the strongest is the 6MT...the automatic won't hold up for long.

You will need to upgrade the clutch though for sure as others mentioned. It'll start slipping after some time once you surpass the 400Wtq mark.
