lumbar support a must?

I tried sport seats in a 330d without lumbar support because in europe it is sold as a separate option. Those of you with sport seats find it a must option?

Not really.... I have it on mine (SP + Premimum) and don't really use it since I can't seem to get it adjusted to exactly the right spot which makes it rather uncomfortable... your results may vary..

Now heated seats.. YES!!!

The sports seats are very supportive and comfortable. I wouldn't pay the extra for lumbar support.

I hated it in my E46. So I didn't get it this time around and I'm glad that didn't. No back problems.

As othedr have indicated, lumbar support is a matter of personal preference and personal needs. I had it on my E 36 and E 39 cars and have it on the Forester. I find that I only use it on log trips.

i too can't find a comfortable position when using it. i was looking forward to it a lot when i was ordering it and ended up not using it at all because it doesn't move around as i would it expect to.

Slightly OT, but do you find you use the inflatable side cushions a lot? I am guessing you have these in the US, too; they come as standard on the sports seats in Europe.

P.S. I didn't think the lumbar support was worth getting, so I didn't order it. I agree that the heated option is a must, though, especially with leather.

I love my side bolsters, I inflated them to hug my body. It allows the seat to really grab you while you are driving in a more spirited way, especially in the corners...

I have the lumbar supports, in fact it was one of the things that pushed me up in the option packages.

I've driven lots of rental cars recently (continuous business travel for almost 2 years and I rarely seem to get the same car twice!) and had zero back problems. After an hour or so in the 330 (sports seats) my back was becoming mildly aggravated as indeed it used to sometimes in the RX-7.

I was initially very disappointed. But then I started playing around with the lumbar support. I placed it exactly where I felt it should be (I had already adjusted it but tried again) and them made it disappear entirely. Back problems gone away and now I am feeling fine! I.e. for me the lumbar support seemed to be a problem. Weird, I know. I also sleep on a very very stiff bed.

Bottom line is I don't think I would pay for lumbar support. However, the "good" news is you can push it backwards so it has no impact whatsover.

I don't really use the lumbar support. It's just something that came with the Premium Package.

The power side bolsters are great though!
