I'm having a bizarre issue where every time I get into the car and my iPhone 8+ connects to the X5 via Bluetooth, the song playing automatically sets itself to repeat. I then have to manually undo it on my phone.
Has anyone had this issue? Anyone know what I might be doing wrong? |

what would happen if you tap repeat one more time for repeat all. Then turn off car and turn back on. Will it continue playing the song and still be repeat all or does it flip back to repeat for the 1 track? Also do you often swipe away your open apps? I wonder if you leave the music app on and not completly close or swipe it away if it will stay as you have it set to repeat all or repeat off alltogether. Also in the idrive screen is there a way to put shuffle and or repeat on manually from the screen. I only ask this as i don't have my X5 yet. It's on order.

Same thing here on both iPhone and iPod Touch (and an old iPod Classic, too, that I tried for good measure).
Other than the ancient iPod, I'm also unable to navigate through music using the scroll wheel on the steering wheel or with the iDrive wheel. It just says "Please wait." It will work on smaller playlists. There are also issues with music playback from a USB drive--it doesn't see a lot of the content, even though it is there and accessible. Hopefully this will all be fixed soon. I'm told by a German friend who was home for the holidays and is friends with a number of BMW execs, including the head of global quality, that they are well aware of these issues and a fix should be deployed around 1/7/19. The software update I got last week did nothing to fix any of this, but did nuke all my BMW apps.... |

I ran into a minor glitch this morning with playback.
I had recorded a message using my Apple Watch app "Just Record". When I activated music from my phone the display went haywire. I could not get a photo of the message as I was driving on the turnpike, but the display keep jumping around until I switched to a radio station.'' I use that AW app on occasion and would like to know how if I ask Apple or BMW about this scenario.

Another (new) issue that has happened to me in two different BMW's with CarPlay: when you get into the car the music automatically starts playing, but when you reverse and then go intro drive, CarPlay pauses the music and you have to hit play again.

I write this post to confirm that the same problem also occurs on my X5 G05. As soon as you connect the iPhone 6 and the iPad mini in the cable or via Bluetooth to the car, the repeat button is activated. Also when I search for my playlists, or no tracks are displayed or are only partially displayed. I read in previous posts that BMW is aware of the bug and so I look forward to the fixes. As soon as someone has news, I hope you write it here. Bye |

Hi, do you know if this version is already available? I picked up the car a week ago and it seems strange to me that they didn't install the new software.

Yes, by way of dealer install. Only issue I have seen from .35 is that the button on the steering wheel to use Siri is broken unless you are connected via CarPlay. Hopefully that is restored in future versions.

Hi, I tried to look the software version in the connected drive menu but maybe the one shown is not the same software you are talking about because it is a completely different number than 35 and among other things it tells me that it is the latest software version .
Is there a way to view the software version you are referring to? In a few days I'll still have to go to the seller and ask him if they have the 35 version of the software. |

Not with my X5.
Bluetooth is remarkably unreliable. Fails to connect 50% of the time. If two iPhones in X5 at same time (mine and my wife's) then won't connect either one. Carplay is just terrible. Ugly interface. Again, if two iPhones in X5 it won't connect either one. USB always selects replay song no matter setting on my iPhone before plugging it in.

Once I turned off shuffle on the one song the entire playlist stopped shuffling. No idea if I caused this problem inadvertently or it was due to the latest iOS update. I haven't had too many problems with updates but I'm pretty sure this was the issue. I have an iPhone 7+. |
