M60i LCI - Side M Badge for US Market Cars - Is it just an Emblem?

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
The US market M60is do not have the side M badge (pictured below). I beleive all other markets do, including Canada.

Apparently (hearsay), they felt it was too many badges for Americans, which I find ironic as I'd have thought America to be a more pro-badge market. Regardless, I like the look and am trying to see if this is easily added.

Can anyone from those markets confirm if it is just a badge that is applied to the same black trim piece or whether it's more specifically integrated into the trim piece?

Any idea on what parts to order?

I searched but couldn’t find anything. If anyone recalls, I’d appreciate it!

They appear to be double stick tape applied. I wonder the difficulty in removing the factory ones?

How did you get the factory ones off?

I found them to be a little out of place and irregularly positioned for the overall design. Also $115 for a $3 plastic emblem is way too much!
I guess to each his own taste, but I really don't like how they look.

Not sure what you mean. The factory "side" is the hockey stick running the length of the vehicle. This adds to the top of the hockey stick as an add-on. Nothing needs to be taken off. At least in the US, there's not side M emblem.

Yeah, I figured that out late last night. Apparently, from the factory they just apply the decal on top of that wedge. Initially, I thought it was replacing the wedge. I should get mine this weekend and will report back.

Just noticed the LCI has that little trim piece next to the hockey stick where they put the M badge on in other countries. It does look weird it sticking out with nothing on it for the US market because it looks like it was only designed (which it clearly was) to hold something. I'm not a fan of M badges but in this case it looks weird without it…like something fell off your vehicle… I see now why the US guys would want to buy it to make it look complete.

I agree it’d look better if it was one piece, but if you look at the first post, the Europe press photos show the same two piece setup, it looks identical?

Got them, easy install, really like them. There's basically a lip/channel that you hook to the existing black trim piece, then line up and they stick right on!

I didn't realize they were fairly substantial, not just a sticker/emblem, but an entire bulky piece:
