BBS Wheels

About BBS:

BBS is the world's most well-known brand for light alloy wheels. This is confirmed by awards from leading German and international automotive trade magazines. Careful controls guarantee the quality of the products made by BBS, beginning with the heat treatment up to the surface finish. Each wheel produced is artificially aged. This is crucial for the strength of the aluminum. BBS only uses environmentally friendly coatings. The coating method guarantees the OE quality of leading premium car manufacturers.

Uncompromising, aesthetic and trendy BBS presents new wheel design CI-R

Concave high performance wheel in the distinctive Y-spoke design
Explicit focus on weight optimization
Numerous applications in 20-inch size for premium class passenger cars

Premium wheel manufacturer BBS from Schiltach presents its newly developed CI-R to the public. The distinctive high performance wheel scores with the established BBS genes, the attractive Y-spoke design and a weight optimization, whereby the CI-R boasts even less weight than the BBS bestseller CH-R.

With its new wheel design CI-R, the premium manufacturer from the Black Forest is setting new standards. The CI-R temporarily represents the unmistakable culmination of a successful design line and follows the current trend with its concave shape.

The wheel captivates not only visually with its distinctive, BBS typical Y-spokes, but is also equipped with all kinds of technical finesse. Weight optimization here is top priority. Thanks to the proven Flow-Forming technology and back-milled spokes, the CI-R is an absolute lightweight construction wheel and weighs in even lighter than the BBS classic CH-R. During production of the 20-inch wheel, three molds provide for three different concavities. Particularly concave here are the rear axle wheels.

The CI-R will initially come in sizes 8.5 x 20, 9 x 20, 9.5 x 20, 10 x 20 and 10.5 x 20 inches in the color Satin Platinum, and includes a General Operating Permit (German abbreviation: ABE) and a laser engraved KBA number. For 2015, a 19-inch version is being planned. The BBS logo is also lasered on the outer rim. The wheel will be available starting from 540 Euro (non-binding retail price including value added tax). The new BBS design is ideal for passenger cars in the premium class such as Audi (including S and RS), BMW (including M-models), Mercedes (including AMG) or Tesla. But BBS also offers attractive combinations for Hyundai, Toyota, Lexus, Mazda, Nissan and Citroën, Peugeot, Renault, Opel and VW. Of course the CI-R, like all BBS cast wheels, is 100 percent produced in Germany.

Excited to see the weights. I'll hold out for 19s. Any idea if the CI-R in 19 will clear CCB?

Looks exactly like the BBS SR rims I have in my Tirerack shopping cart for my winter tires.

Why release 20" ahead of 19"? If weight and performance is the goal, this seems counterintuitive.

Cool but I'm guessing this will cost an arm and a leg again. Pass especially in 20' form

They will cost maybe an arm. The arm and leg pricing are the FI's. 😉

I like these! But I still like one-piece HRE's better. I feel the pricing will be similar too, in my totally non-expert opinion.

It's cast. I doubt it'll cost an arm and a leg. I'd expect $2500-$3000 for a set.

No offense, please I mean that, but those images look like they are from a cheap eBay knock off site, especially the first one. That can't be official PR from BBS can it?

Looking forward to seeing the weight of a 19 inch version, and to see if they offer an aggressive fitment for the F22.
