Ordering Question. future M60i owner
Hi folks. First time ever joining a forum and first time (future) bmw owner here.
So I just put down a deposit on a X7 M60i. The sales guy said that it might end up being a 2024 model with expected delivery time of April. A couple of questions I wanted to ask you all: 1) is the delivery expected time accurate from what you all have experienced? 2) I will be financing the vehicle and I’ve heard that there’s starting to be discounts/rebates. Is that something I should discuss when the vehicle is at the dealership (when it’s time to discuss financing) or do it now to “lock in” the price. Thanks in advance. Pretty excited to own a Bmw. Coming from previously driving a bunch of Lexus, Audi’s and Toyotas. Cheers! |

same here; my dealer will not have an allocation until March at the earliest, told me to expect May delivery which likely makes it a 2024 model; I received a $750 incentive for financing with BMW; minimum $10k and cannot pay off the balance for at least 4 months. Also received a 2% discount off sticker on an M60, seemed like a very fair deal

Did you ask for the $759 incentive and the 2% discount? That sounds like a good deal. |

long term customer at the dealership - it is my 6th car plus I send a bunch of coworkers and friends their way. Always treated me well, and I did not have to ask for the $750 - this is apparently a BMW Financial deal. Just frustrated with the wait; they had an Alpina on the lost and offered a decent deal, but I could not pull the trigger so it's back to waiting.

I am not sure. I’m still waiting to hear back on allocation from my dealer. My office is 5 min from the dealership so went there yesterday for an update and sai the new 7 series. It looks so good! Almost makes me want to get that over the X7! Lol

March production allocations were released this past Saturday. If you haven't heard from them, you didn't get one. You'll have to wait until later this month for MY24 allocations (April production)

I ordered a BMW X7 m60i back in November 2022 and I haven’t received a production number. I’m having a hard time talking to the new car manager. Do you think I should get my cash back and go order somewhere else? I have zero communication with the salesman or car manager. I hate to reorder and I’ll have to go through the same process.

I am no expert but searching google for new m60i's there have not been any inventory for any dealer since december. I think the allocations are more for 40i's. I ordered 10/31 and did not get an allocation until january 3rd and feel as though I got lucky. I had place a previous order with another dealer on 10/5 and never had any inkling of allocation so when I got the 10/31 order allocation I cancelled the other order. The 10/5 came from a big dealer so who knows...... Now communication issues with a dealer is not a good sign but like you said would drag you out even further. Tough call and good luck. |

I get the same response when I tried to order a m60, It's at least 3 months out. When I asked why as I would think it's more profitable to make a m60 they said they had no information but speculate it's a parts issue.

My thinking is price point. More people willing to pay 90k vs 120k.

Dealers around here getting allocations at a rate of about 1:10 for i6 vs v8. Get much less in terms of the larger engine and M models. Dealer can't just order whatever they want unfortunately.

I took your guy's advice and called around other dealerships. I was lucky to find one that had a modified allocation, and I went and purchased my BMW X7 m60i. I got a production number right away.

I believe there are some major delays with the X7 m60i.
I placed my order(2023 m60i) back on 08/15/22 and was first in line to get the next allocation at my dealership. I was told that I should have my car by end of October. However, I didn’t get an allocation until mid October for a production week of Dec 11th. Later my production week got pushed to Jan 28 2023 Again it got pushed to Feb 6. Luckily, it went back into production on Jan 28 and showed ‘production begins’ until Feb 2. From there on it kept having a status update every 1-2 days. ‘Waiting for carrier assignment’ on Feb 9, was on a truck by Feb 12 and reached the dealership on Feb 15. After 6 months(from order date), I finally picked up my car today - Feb 18 as I had the glasscoat and suntek ppf installed by them which needs 24 hrs curing time. My locked in rate had expired but my dealer extended & honored it (bmw finance). Note: some dealers can charge you 1-2% more (for some reason BMW has stopped disclosing their rates) Oh and I received the $750 rebate through the corporate sales program- didn’t have the 2% off then. Good Luck ! |

When I ordered my m60i in August, I got a production number right away. I also got the $750 off plus 2%. Was a great deal. Car arrived in last days of Sept but didn't pick it up until the end of Oct due to stop sale. Amazing vehicle.

Wow el19 that’s a real good deal n timeframe.
I’m in the Boston area and none of the other dealers nearby had an allocation or a possibility for me to be next in line for one. |

Thanks! I thought so too. I am in DC area and had originally placed an order with a Virginia dealer. They gave me the run around for a few weeks and didn't tell me they didnt even have allocations yet. So I went to my local dealer and they got me an allocation that day and gave me all of those discounts for switching dealers. Pretty happy with the customer service there.
