Performance Center Delivery

So excited to be driving to Spartanburg tomorrow for Tuesday pickup. Hoping the weather forecast will improve so we can drive back on the Blue Ridge Parkway and see some amazing views! Anyone else done this?

Yep, I've opted for PCD delivery for my past X5s and recently in December for my G05. PCD delivery never gets old but only better every time.

Over in G05 there's a PCD Q&A thread:
PCD... a few questions for those who have been there https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1686643

From the getting picked up at the airport,
over night hotel stay and hotel dining to the morning shuttle over to PCD, the instructors and BMW Genius delivery staff orchestrate and coordinate a exhilarating and informative driving school, lunch, factory tour and delivery experience.

If you're bringing a significant other to PCD, encourage them to participate as you both will have the opportunity to take turns in the driving school courses - braking, DSC skid pad, course track and off road track. The only driving school event that you're going to f'ing love is the instructor hot lap - buckle up and be sure to video record that!!! Coming back from hot lap, I literally rolled out of the M5C laughing and smiling from ear to ear.

It's a memorable delivery experience that owners should experience at lease once and I personally think it's the ONLY way to have your new BMW delivered.

Here's some quick shots.

That makes me excitedly giddy just to look at, thinking that could be me in a few months.

I was going to do the PCD but was told by my dealer that there were significant delays in scheduling the X7 delivery so the car went straight to the dealership. I would have liked to do the PCD again like my last three cars but a) I am not sure X7 belongs on this track (no offense) and b) the drive home will be a lot shorter than from the plant (although I will have to get my break-in done in NY instead of on the way back)

Saw your message ... bummer! Looks like PCD is probably out of the equation for me as well.

It may have been that my dealer forgot to schedule it. I called the PC and they told me they were having no delays.

I might be wrong but I suspect the dealers aren't very enthusiastic about the PCD process. My sales guy was perfectly happy to arrange it when asked but no one was forthcoming about it or promoting it.

Oh and you don't take your own car on the track! But they did let us drive an X7 M50i on the track and it's pretty jaw dropping to hammer one around as fast as you can/dare, and see what they can do

We are flying to Greenville tomorrow for the PCD experience on Friday for delivery of an X7. The delay was only about 10 days. The sales manager raved about the experience.

I’ve done it three times, last two with an X6M. It is certainly a lot of fun. I don’t think the dealers are in any way disincentivized to offer it, it makes no difference to them financially.

Would the purchasing dealer be the one offering the service add-ons (care+, wheel & tire protection, etc) pre-delivery, or would that still be done during delivery? That would be my only thought for finance or dealer leadership being against a PCD, but it makes no difference for the CA.

Work with your dealer for service add-ons, finalizing your purchase - finance, lease, ballon etc - completing and sending your ConnectDrive account registration, pretty much taking your monies LOL.

The BMW Performance Center is all about the BMW brand experience - driving school, tours and delivery of your brand new BMW - setting up your ConnectDrive account, vehicle settings, etc.
