You access the developer tool through Google Chrome when you are on the main My garage page (do not click track status)... I think you can press f12, or go under View, then Developer. It will open up a weird coding screen that you can then see all sorts of line items. The ones with the detail begin with "forward?groupid" For me, it's the second one in the list that starts with that verbiage. Scroll to the right through the info and eventually you will get to the order status code.

Already 80 miles Had 4 from dealer The 22” RFT performance rides like on rails. Smooth as my last Lexus LS and Mercedes S Class. Unbelievable for something nearing 6000 lbs. Last edited by chiumeister; 09-18-2022 at 08:26 PM.. |

Hi all,
Many of you have been posting status updates, like from Start to Production to Delivery. I ordered my X7 from my dealer last week. He said I won’t be able to track it until it enters production. Is this true? When I ordered my Lincoln, I got an email the very next day confirming receipt of the order, and was able to see the progress status. What is the website to check the status for my BMW order? I have not yet received any emails from BMW. Thanks. |

Without this, they have not submitted your build. They just took your deposit . Let us know when you have this . |

My sales rep did email me a “Vehicle Inquiry: Design/MSRP” printout that has all my specs/options/pricing, and it has a production number as well.

This is a good start. This means they had a modificable allocation and actually entered your order. Did the rep tell you the production week? Now you can call the BMW Genius number and use your production # to get updates. The production number will eventually change to a VIN. You can also register on bmw website. You will have a tab called My Garage where you can add your production number/ Vin. Happy waiting and refreshing! |

The top of the build sheet will have the production number and it will say priority 1 . Customer sold. So if you didn't ask then the production week and they didn't tell you the production week on their own then they likely don't have an allocation. If they give you something vague like November production then it means they expect to get an allocation for you or are working on a dealer trade for an allocation. It sounds like you just have a pricing sheet with your options |

I don't work at a dealer so I am guessing here a bit. You have a hybrid of what i described. they submitted your order. it is in the order bank. Just floating around waiting as soon as your store gets an allocation it should pull your exact order. They are probably waiting to get their november slots. so maybe late nov early december delivery. I stole this picuture from the web. Top left you will see VIN beneath production number. That is what you want. Priority 1 Production Number Also another example of how it changes through the build process. If you are happy with the store experience and delivery late november / early december at the earliest then you are good to go. I don't work at a store so everything i am telling you is based on experience. I once had an X4 delivered in like 17 days from order to showing up at the dealer. It was the most impeccable timing. Was able to modify a build at the last second. Obviously from the other threads you know that there are some cars that got stuck in QC, maybe shortage of trucks, so the experience is a little slower now. Yes, to keep it simple lets say that is true. Here are other things to consider. In theory, your store could get 1 allocation. If they already have another sold x7 they could the slot. It depends what "number you are on the list". Your store could get zero allocations for an x7 for November. So that means you wait for December. Your store could get 2 allocations for 40 i and non for M60. You obviously are not getting an M60 but if you were, then this is another example of where you would have to wait longer. **** I don't know the real probability of any of the above happening. The store should have a good feel for the number of allocations. This is also not a unique M2. it is a bread and butter x7. They are easy to get. ********* So it is really in the best interest of the buyer to ask. Do you have a modifiable allocation? What is the build week? Do this before placing your deposit. There aren't any real deals out there right now as far as I am aware. A high volume store on the east coast offered 2 percent off msrp. A local store said 500 of msrp. They confused me with a friend of someone. My go to store is being stubborn at msrp. This would be the 4th car from them. They are no longer the go to store. Another store where i bought an X5 in 2019 said msrp and we won't do any of the add ons/ extras. I say shop around if you are paying MSRP and you need a car by XXXXX date. It really depends on how your store has treated you. Also, do you have a trade that you need to lock in a trade price? |

allocations distributed 1st week of oct are for november production allocations distributed 1st week of nov are for dec production etc etc. i would expect dealers to get their November prod allocations sometime between oct 3rd and 7th. those should arrive at the dealers mid nov to mid dec. last year there were delayed releases of allocations due to supply chain issues but thats the exception vs the rule. i dont believe that has happened this year. your order status of 047 means its in your dealer's order bank, waiting for them to assign a build allocation to it. as has probably been said before, that will depend on how many allocations they get and if they have any other orders ahead of yours.

I'm getting $2k off with no extra add ons, so basically 2% off MSRP. This is my 2nd X7. I didn't have to put a deposit down either. Do dealerships tend to get the same number of allocations for each vehicle month by month? or does it fluctuate?
