Headlight issue- am I going crazy?

I’ve had the headlight vertical aim malfunction error for a few weeks, dealer says supposedly some module is defective and there is no availability information for when it can be replaced.

Couple days ago I felt like the headlights were pointed much lower than usual — on the highway the top horizontal line is barely one lane marker away from the front of the car. Is it always this close? Am I going crazy or did it shift down and now cant “aim vertically” ??

This pic is basically eye level, what I see from my perspective.

Yes, agree with Orient330iNYC

I looked at mine this AM (5:30 NY time) and my broadcast was almost in the woods when I pulled out of the garage. So yes that’s definitely down way further than it should be. Hence the vertical aim error you are getting.

You’re not crazy. I had the same issue after I brought X7 in for left HiBeam malfunction. After picking up vehicle, I notice on the drive home that they were misaligned.
Needless to say, I brought it back. They blamed it on coding the new light to the car.
All appears fixed now

Goofy beam pattern on the LCI cars. How did BMW let that slide when they knew how many people would be unhappy with them?

Yes it's quite annoying, I find myself staring at the "black hole" way too often.

Also on my 760i (7 series) FYI, so not exclusive to the X7
