I have found the room in the footwell a little cramped. My last car had more room, and in this one I need to be a little more careful. It isn't just the space between the pedals, but the space above the foot, my toes keep catching on something there in the footwell and it can be annoying.

On the subject of fav driving shoes, I have a pair of Zu shoes that are perfect, and give good feel of the pedals through the soles. Other than that I love to drive barefoot and feel the pedals, and feel more connected to the car. Problem is that the cops don't like you driving barefoot here...

I've noticed the same thing... If I have boots on (either steel toe for work, or hiking boots for the snow) I have to be careful about where I hit the clutch with my foot or I end up hitting either my heel or toe on something... I even had to take out the floor mat because my heel kept catching on it trying to let the clutch out...

I've also noticed that the brake and gas petal are really close together... Makes it easier to "heal-toe", but with the boots I would sometimes hit the brake petal on the side trying to let out the gas to shift.... Guess it's just something that I'll have to get used to..

BTW I have a size 10 1/2 shoe... with no complaints from the wife either..

I am glad to know that people in LHD cars are having a similar experience. I was wondering if it was just a bad RHD conversion. Sometimes this can happen, cars are mostly designed for LHD and when the convert them over there is something in the way in the engine bay that can't be moved and you get a funny steering/pedal/seat association.

I wouldn't have expected BMW to have this issue though, so I guess room is just at a premium down there...

Read this post a couple days ago and thought I'd go try some of those Pumas on. They were alright for me, but there's not a whole lot of arch support in em, better for flat footed people. The Future Cats were a little better than the Speed Cats for me. Then I tried the Adidas Tuscanys. They were even better for my feet. They definitely fit my high arch better. Ended up buying a pair. Mine are black with more of a suade leather though.

your'e right, but we're speaking in the context of drivng shoes(isn't this kinda in the wrong sec. of the forum?) Anyways, the Puma Speedcats are for sure not for walking and pacing around, I keep mine in my car underneath the passenger seat... and use them when I get in and take em' off when I get out. Being it that my feet are so big, lol, it's kinda hard to find desirable shoes, like the Tuscanys, the biggest those go up to are like a size 14. Pathetic I say... I always say that one day I'll open up a shoe store JUST for guys w/ big feet.. that way all the little people can walk in happy, and walk out pissed off... Much like I do going to the Addidas store on 3rd St. in Santa Monica. (jokes)

When I take my foot off the accelerator quickly to brake, my shoe gets stuck and sometimes it takes longer than I'd like to press the brake.
Yep, size 13 here as well; same issue. I've actually come close to rear-ending someone while accidentally hitting the brake and the accelerator simultaneously. If I'm on a long drive, I take my shoes off.

I wear some New Balances and they're quite comfortable. I think I'm going to get like four more pairs of them (of different color).

old thread but... i'll bump anything to push "smelly seat" farther down. that topic title just kinda skeeves me... hehe.

anyway, my friend who just drove my new 335 sedan complained of this, hitting the brake at the same time as the clutch with his left foot. he also has 13's but i noticed the work shoes he had on had a... bumper (lol) on them too. i think with better shoes he might be ok but i don't think he'd buy one despite otherwise really likeing what he saw due to this :/

Adiddas has a F1 shoes. They combined with goodyear so they have goodyear rubber on it. Try foot locker.

BTW thoes puma shoes must be old because BMW is not with Williams F1 anymore. Their with Sauber.
